The game is breddy gud. The main campaign is linear, but the story is ok. Artwork and soundtrack is amazing, game mechanics are cool (I am playing as a dwarf brute), and the game engine flexibility (the editor) makes me sure a ton of great mods and user generated campaigns will be created.

This is the first kickstarter game that turned out to be top quality, at least in my opinion.

Even what I say is just half truth, considering that I'm not a backer (well, I'm technically a backer, but not at a level which gets me the game). Doing a web search now I found a post from someone saying that the download limit is gone. So possibly it is. I'll have to wait for a real backer to comment about this.

What I was saying, I was reading a couple of website posts and blogs how it's not cool the downloads are limited. And when I asked about it, it appears it's not true, maybe even not true at all.

You can't rely on gaming sites like at all these days.

Well, it certainly was technically true at one point. It's just that people tend to immediately jump to the conclusion that this is the way things are going to remain and don't bother to check further. Plus blogs and forum posts often tend to exaggerate (see the Double Fine reaction for example).

The Download Limits do appear to be gone (at least they don't show on the download page, and make no reference when the download is started.)

Completed the game on very hard, the last few battles and last battle seem to have the difficulty spike 80 degrees up from the rest of the game :) Can't wait Berlin campaign which I'm not sure when.

There were originally 10 download limits for the game and 5 for the extras. The limit was reset and then increased after people complained that the DRM-Free version HBS uploaded was an older dev build. If they've now removed the limit, that's good, there shouldn't have been one to begin with.

Yeah, shows some lacks in respect for Kickstarters... what they were thinking...

Really sounds like they are treating the DRM free backers as 2nd class citizens..

I'm guessing they were trying to prevent someone from giving the game to lots of others simply by giving them his account login and password.
When I first checked the site, the download limit was 50, which is way more than any single person needs, so it didn't really bother me. Now the dl limit is gone, so I guess some people complained and they listened, but it wasn't that big a deal imo.

You know what? I'm hearing more and more about Steam games that are DRM-free on the Mac, but not on Windows. I may have to try to figure out how to make a Hackintosh just for Steam...

Anyone tried importing drm-free saves to the Steam version of SRR? Doesn't look like it works at first. DRM-free version saves are located in:
C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\Harebrained Schemes\Shadowrun Returns\Saves
while Steam ones are in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\xxxxxxxxx\234650\remote\saves

If you copy your save files from drm-free folder to the Steam folder it doesnt work. But it seems that autosave files do work. So just rename your drm-free save to autosave.sav in the Steam save folder or simply use the existing autosave.sav. That way, you can play custom modules with your imported main character.

Correct me if I'm wrong though, coz I'm playing Life on a Limb using my DRM-free version main character.
Btw, according to latest update on SRR. Berlin is due in October.
