Krankor: Bizzare!
I was only looking at Actua Soccer 3 yesterday on some wiki page and remembered it being a very fast football sim.
Took a long time to master, but was brilliant fun with two players.
I'm tempted to get this, but I only have one controller pad....
Does anyone know if you can play this across a LAN ?

I don't think so, it has only head to head mp on same PC as far as I know.

DadouXIII: Oh poo, I hate sport games :(
I already play soccer in real life, virtual soccer is like 10 steps back :(

Ahh but virtual is futuristic and so 10 steps forward again
Unexpected release indeed. Unfortunately I don't like sport games...
i personally am not a football fan but well lots of my favourite games have been realeased here in the last few week (ground control etc) so i can't complain lol

You can, through DOSBox's null modem emulation. Unfortunately we found that, during testing, the games would rarely get desynchronized, especially when playing with a lot of players. Still, this almost never happened in 1vs1 games (which is a preferred type of gameplay in a sports game), plus the desnchronization seems seamless - the CPU seems replace the human opponent.
While I like football, I'm unlikely to buy an older football game. The players and teams are all well beyond their prime by now.
Then again it would be fun to pilot the United team featuring Solskjaer, Cantona, Beckham, Schmeichel, all the greats I grew up with.
Still this gets beat by a lightyear by Sensible World of Soccer for old-school soccer games.

While Actua Soccer had licensed player names, IIRC VR Soccer didn't and had completely fictional ones.
By the was thanks GOG, I have been wondering if we would be getting more sports games, cheers.

Sid_Vicious: I also remember this game as "Actua Soccer", and it was the only soccer game I liked :)

Ironically, it was the only soccer game I hated :(
Now the sports category has choice. Don't know if I'll buy this one or not but it is good to see the section expanding.
meh, soccer. Oh well, I hope next week will rock :D It's Gamescom in Cologne, and on Saturday I am actually going to be there :D

Cheers Acare84. :)
I can't really remember Actua soccer, but at this time it wasn't my first or second choice. I love football, so this game will go on my wishlist.
Btw. the Championship Manager 2001/2002 is actually for free, maybe that was the reason why someone here wrote about it. An really good kick-off remake is Throw-In, take a look on http://ko-gathering.com/forum/ for it.
I would recommend this, its a load of fun even for an RPG fan like me.
But its best with a buddy :D

Even though i love football Highland league football in scotland is great. Local teams hammering the hell out of each other i can nevr find the same excitment in a computer game compared to the real life football think this a game i will give a miss and save my money or might just buy a title on my wish list.
