deoren: Looks interesting. The teaching aspect is what has me interested.
On another note, this is release #1 of 2 for today, right?

Doubtful now, the latest ive known GOG to announce a game is about 3pm GMT, and that was the anouncement of Ubisoft games arriving on GOG. Could be that the second scheduled release had some problem with it (see Spellforces protracted release, or see speculation on HOMM delayed release), or they are saving up for some big announcement on thursday, or possibly they only have one game ready today.
Chessmaster 9000 is pretty good, and the instructions from Josh Waitzkin are can teach almost anyone a thing or two. The auto-annotation feature really helps with identifying weaknesses in one's game that one can then use the instructional parts to improve; the color comments can be a little repetitive, but that's not a big deal.
I used to own a copy, but gave it to someone when I bought Fritz 8, which is a good chess program but not nearly so friendly in instruction.
D'oh! The wait for Rainbow Six continues. Oh well. Happy day for you chess fans!

Well you have to think several moves ahead in Rainbow Six, the mission planning phase could probably benefit from a chess mind

Which is why everybody who are planning to get Rainbow Six should get Chessmaster 9000 now in order to freshen up the more strategical mental processes.
=( I wish I hadn't bought battle chess.
I could have gotten this instead v.v

Meh, it's still more violent.

Maybe so, but not 6$'s more violent.
I'm learning lots about tactics and such after buying this game. I suck at most board games that force you to use your brain, but I'm getting a lot out of it.
