Hello, I know a lot of you use GOG to play old games that were a staple of many of our youths, and while I too still get fun out of the fallout's I'm looking for something more modern and accessible while being retro enough to run on my integrated graphics chip (intel x3100). I know I could just play newer games on lowered graphics settings, but the new wave of PC games isn't much to my liking anyways. So what I'm asking I guess is are there any games I haven't played already on GOG that would be fun to experience for the first time in 2009. Bonus points if there's an active modding community that helps bridge the gap between past and present, such as 1.13 with Jagged Alliance 2.
Along with JA 2 the kind of GOG games that have met that criterion I described would be Duke Nukem which still has great gameplay, a huge modding community and even a decent multiplayer population. Beyond that there's freespace 1 and 2 which have since had their engines upgraded, but other than those 4 I'm kind of blanking out, so if anyone could help and share their 2 cents that'd be cool.
I'm thinking of trying either of the strongholds, as I really like strategy games. Along these parts I've also heard a lot of praise for The Guild, is that justified?
