Does anyone happen to have the Coolermaster NotePal W1 laptop cooler? My laptop is something of a furnace and is in dire need of cooling so I was planning on getting a NotePal W1 cooler since its practically the only one I've seen that can fit my HP DV9000 on and is in my ~$50 price range.
Then when I was looking at the underside I noticed a distinct lack of vents that correspond to the fan positions of the NotePal so I'm not sure how effective it will be. What sort of cooling could I expect from that combination?
Perhaps a better question is how stable would it be if the laptop is turned around so the keyboard is sloping down rather than up? That would put the fans in the right spot to cool the hard drives and the ram, the 2 parts that seem to get physically hottest to the touch. I'm just a bit concerned that the raised lip at what should be the the front of the cooler might not be enough to stop the laptop from sliding off, it's got little feet that come down the back so I'm guessing it'd be right but I really can't afford to buy a dud at the moment.
Alternatively, can anyone recommend a reasonably priced alternative cooler (usb powered) that'd mount a 40cm wide laptop?

i usually just see what the local store has and take it home. I'm not picky because I know you're not going to get much more cooling than the cooling in the room.
I think it'll be OK, although I would just look at your local store's offerings and find one you like and bag it.
