As our catalog gets bigger and better every week, it’s easy to lose track of some of the awesome games that we have to offer. Of course Fallout, Baldur’s Gate, and some other of our most popular titles will always get a lot of attention, but GOG has many more classics to bring you. To help encourage you to explore the dustier reaches of GOG’s catalog, we’re going to be offering a promo on the first and third Wednesday of every month. Think of it as a curated promo on some of GOG’s favorite titles that you may not have played. Whether we’re encouraging you to explore incredible new worlds or inviting you to see how a titanic series got its start, we think every game we’re going to be offering on our GOG Gem Promos will be an excellent title, and we hope you give them all a try.

After highlighting two great shooters in previous GOG Gem promos it's time for an awesome action-adventure game: Another World known in the USA as Out of This World. Created almost entirely by one person - Éric Chahi - for Delphine Software, the game was one of the biggest hits on the Amiga platform thanks to its atmosphere, cinematic feeling, great animation and the gameplay consisting of platform, puzzle and shooting elements. The story shows Lester, a young physicist, who suddenly finds himself in an alternate world after lightning struck during his experiment. Players role is to find a way to get Lester back to "our" world. The 15th Anniversary Edition, which is sold on GOG.com, introduced a remastered edition of the original (both versions are included) and some cool materials that showed how the game was made. With a 60% discount this is an offer you just can't miss.

So grab Another World 15th Anniversary Edition today for only $3.99! The promo ends tomorrow, April 21 at 5:59 a.m. EDT (10:59 a.m. GMT).
Hey Everyone,

we had some PayPal issues, sorry everyone. We resolved all problems and everything works fine now.

If you have paid already please contact our support department and your games will be on your shelves in no time.

Sorry again for any problems.
I managed to buy and beat the game in the time it too GoG team to resolve the PayPal issue :-)

Probably about 90 minutes of gameplay, but totally worth it. I love the game, and now I'm happy to have it on my (virtual) shelf. But if you've never played Another World, it will take you probably about twice that time. I found out that the levels are still pretty well etched into my memory...
Cool! Another thing to knock off the wishlist.
Keep up the good work GOG ;)

This Anniversary edition lets you play with both the original and remade graphics, and has save games instead of password codes. It's the best version hands down!
I looked for this info on the game page but didn't see it.

During your problem period I bought:

Alone in the Dark 1-3
Fallout 2
XIII
The Last Express
Jagged Alliance 2
Planescape Torment
Psychonauts

Please add them to my shelves, kthx bai!
The animation for its time was great, and the cinematic flair and scripted events were engrossing. Who can forget that first beast that chases you? You really didn't know what to expect around the next corner, unlike other games like mario where you had a pretty good idea there would be some platforming and head jumping ahead. It was more unique and less repetitive than even most adventure games at the time. There are some sequences where the memorization is as bad as something like Dragon's Lair, but as a whole it's really Out of this World (see what I did there.)
Might take advantage of this sale . . . =)
I bought this edition of Another World on CD DRM-free – so this time I’ll pass. Nevertheless great game – everyone should play it.
It is also a game where you could clearly see how our memories become false in time. When I purchased 20th anniversary edition on the box I saw: enhanced gfx feature. So I run game, played a bit and ask myself: So where is this enhanced gfx? This is exactly how the game looked when I played it 20 years ago…Than I switched to “original version” – WTF…:-)
Wishlisted for some time. Bought it!
Been eying this for weeks! Instant buy from me. Thanks GOG!
I probably won't play this anytime soon as I felt the same way as SimonG about the difficulty when I played it years ago. Anyway I purchased it. I want to support this 60% off Wednesday thing, if nothing else but for the possibility we might see Baldur's Gate, Torment, or Sierra games on the 60% list someday. =]

Seeing as I bought Baldur's Gate not long ago I'd hope they chose Planescape instead. ;) I wonder how many people own it already what with it being such an iconic game and on the front page every day iirc since release.
