EA really takes good care of its potential Sims 3 buyers, as evidenced in the link below:
http://www.gamespot.com/news/6208945.html?tag=latestheadlines;title;3
Players will be able to purchase additional SimPoints in denominations of 500-, 1,000-, and 2,000-point packages. According to EA, 1,000 SimPoints will cost $10, plus applicable tax.

Yep, they've even thoughtfully informed consumers that tax will be involved. Go you, EA!
10 dollars + tax for 1000 simpoints? i'd rather buy a game or two at gog.
EA can suck it forever.
Sims is a business, nothing more.
Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Yay for living in a country that has zero tax for online purchases =) Not that I'll be interested in buying anything Sims 3 related anyhow. Never did enjoy the series.
Sims is a business, nothing more.
All games are a business dude, that's basically why companies make them. If games didn't make money, very few people would bother to make them.

It's sad, but I'll probablt buy it for my girlfriend.
wonder if they're more or less of a ripoff than MS points
So the Sims 3 is now becoming overrun with microtransactions? Sims 2, here I come!
EA, go ***k yourself.
Hmm, why I said this? I don't care about any Sims games. Bring us real SimCity games god dammit.

I still play SimCity 4 from time to time... not the best of the series, but it's close. Have you tried City Life?

Can you unleash disasters and monsters in City Life? That was the only bit of sim city I liked

Unfortunately, no.
Sims 3 with micro transactions... Somehow Microtransactions continue to survive and do well, I greatly suspect the case will be so for SIms 3.

Yeap, I am too still playing Simcity 3000 and 4. I tried City Life series but don't like them much. City XL or something is coming I will look on to this.
I'm not a fan of microtransactions, so I'm not quite happy about this. But I'm still going to buy The Sims 3. I love the series, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing how the living world in The Sims 3 is going to work.
Sims 3 + microtransactions = even more fail than previous Sims games, IMO

Sims are business even more. Those Sims 2 mini-expansions which contain only a bunch of items can be released as a patch, but EA wants money. More money. Even more money....
