Tychoxi: Man, backing up and reinstalling is a MAJOR pain (unless you didn't have anything but an OS installed to begin with) that takes hours, and hours.
If you've got all the relevant installers backed up for drivers and programs, preferably on a separate hard drive, then most of the work can be done in an hour. You won't have everything back right away. But all the more important stuff will be back up and running. Which is a lot more than can be said for somegamer's present predicament.
GameRager: 1 Hour? Maybe that to just get the OS reinstalled. Then you have OS updates and service packs, driver(video/audio/directX/etc) updates, reinstall browser and extensions/plugins. This could easily take around 5-6 hours.
I've done this many times. I've had all the essentials installed within an hour. Been online, retrieved my bookmarks and extensions. Windows updates are a pain in the arse. But hardly vital initially.
