I choose dark souls too but to be honest it's not a sequel at all of demon souls so is kinda unfair to be on the list in the first place

In no real particular order:

1. Baldur's Gate 2 with Throne of Bhaal- An excellent conclusion to the series and even better gameplay
2. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
3. Gears of War 3- I haven't played Judgment yet so this is based off the three that I played
4. Mass Effect 3
5. Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (technically it's a sequel)

Warcraft 3
StarCraft 2
The Witcher 2
Metro Last Light
Team Fortress 2

I think I got goosebumps the first time I saw that video, with the orc and human blood mixing in the puddle :D The best RTS ever, except perhaps for Warcraft 2 :P

GTA 3 because it's so much better than GTA 1 or 2.

To bad even that got eclipsed by the later GTA games because GTA 3 aged poorly even GTA 4 is better than 3.
I personally think Starcraft 2's intro was the best they ever done:

Lol, mostly still games that I've yet to play, so after ME2 I went with hype and which game I thought I'd like more :D
