If you have a European PSN account, today is your lucky day! Batman: Arkham Asylum's demo is out for you now. It might also be for European XBox Live members, but I'm not sure. Go ahead, play it and scoff at us Yanks. I'll be moping in the corner.
According to their message on twitter, GamersGate will have a PC demo available tomorrow or Friday.

Tomorrow is Friday anyhow?

Friday is today for me =) Hence the confusion as to when Friday/tomorrow is for GG as it's unclear which timezone they use.

Got it. :D
Steam may also host the demo as they *just* added a product page for the game.
Note there's a pre-order discount on now, if you like. ;)
Oh, and the PC version has been delayed to September 15/18.

Yeah, but if you preorder it from Amazon, you don't get the Scarecrow challenge maps.
PC version delayed? I guess I really will cave in and purchase the PS3 version, with the exclusive Joker challenge maps.
Cool, I forgot about the PS3 Store update today.
Hey if any of you guys want to add me to your PSN friends list I'm Krankor (what a surprise).
PSSTORE JUST RELEASED BATMAN ARKHAM ASYLUM DEMO IN US NOW DOWNLOAD DOWNLOAD DOWNLOAD
I hope PC demo too will be released soon.
Huh. I didn't even know there was going to be a PC version.
Well, honestly I didn't expect this game to be any good (hence not knowing it even had a PC version), but if they're going to go to the trouble of releasing a PC demo - something that many companies don't even bother with anymore, even if they DO release PS3 and 360 demos - then the least I can do is try it out.

I think the game looks great from the trailers but trailers can be extremely misleading. The thing that has me interested in the use of Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill as Batman and The Joker as I was a big fan of the animated series.
Just a shame only the PS3 version lets you play as The Joker.

Just finished the demo, and it's much more than I ever thought it would be. Controlling Batman in combat is absolutely amazing. You only have two attack buttons (attack and counter), but it is extremely context-sensitive, and there are many awesome animations that are absolutely brutal. To give an example of the dynamic fighting, when you knock someone to the ground, a takedown command appears on screen. If you're close to the guy, you'll just lean down, lift his head and give him a good punch. If you're farther away, Batman will make a small leap into the air and land with his fist to the goon's face. It doesn't sound like much when I describe it, but trust me, the animations are beautiful and fluid.
The stealth is also extremely pleasing. You grapple from gargoyle to gargoyle, and can glide down to give a swift kick, hang them from the ceiling, use your Batarang in an efficient manner, and so on. It tells you what to do where, which may seem like it's Prince-of-Persia-style hand-holding, but it makes you feel like you're in command, clever, and gives you a sense of real acroBATics (please don't kill me) that even Sands of Time didn't give me the same level of pleasure to perform!
This game is an insta-buy. Unless, of course, it absolutely falls apart in later levels, but the game didn't give me the sense that it would.
Oh, and there are characters throughout the series that you'd never expect to be in the game, like Oracle (Formerly Batgirl) and Zsasz.
Well you've managed to pique my interest, I was thinking of getting the demo but now I definitely will.
IF it ever shows up on the austraian marketplace. Probably be there about 9pm, seems to be the time we get updates deployed
Wasn't oracle/batgirl supposed to have been wheelchair bound in some comic a while back? I don't follow comics myself but I seem to recall hearing about it.
