cw8: I'm finishing Taipei and done with Rome. Love the game so far, don't what the bitching on the reviews are for.

I finished Saudi Arabia and the first mission in Rome. I agree. The game is freaking sweet. No bugs or crashes yet (PC).
The gameplay is sweet, the whole thing is just so much fun! Awesome game!
Just finished the game for the second time. I've played as a good hearted spy and a brutal mercenary. The game is one of the best RPGs ever.
Hearing all the shit people are saying about this game and Obsidian, and how they're going to ruin Fallout new vegas, is really starting to piss me off. Still patiently awaiting my copy to properly be able to defend this game.
I don't understand why people are worried about New Vegas, from what i can tell things that are messed up or haven't liked in Alpha Protocol are the gameplay and bugs. Gameplay in New Vegas will basically be the same as FO3 so i don't see why that's being worried about and i have a feeling people will start to see bugs that already existed in the engine and weren't fixed by Bethesda in FO3 and blame it on Obsidian.
Eugh, I need to get off the internet and avoid any mention of Alpha Protocol and Obsidian i think.

If anything, Bethesda messed up FO3, so they should all shut it. :P
Not to start a big FO3 debate or anything (it seems good but pretty flawed in some ways).
Most of the way through AP now, and still loving it.
Didn't think I'd enjoy it so much, but it is a very engaging game.
There aren't many bugs that have affected me, I've only had one crash (reloading a checkpoint), and the graphics are pretty good.
It's certainly way better (in my opinion) than Mass Effect which I'm replaying at the moment. The combat feels better, you have stealth options, conversations work better, characters are more developed.
Not sure why it's got all the bad press, perhaps it will become a cult classic over time?

Yeah, I i wish they shut up too. I used to go around posting comments saying Obisidian made the original Fallout which is vastly superior to FO3 but they still appear, so I don't bother anymore.

They probably never gave the mainstream reviewers bags of cash.

It is a really weird game that way...
I think one review said it probably would. I look forward to it. In the meantime, I'm ignoring silly reviewers and enjoying myself very much.
Hope a patch comes though. :)
Finished the game!
Was pretty good, although I made a wrong choice at one point near the end (well, two really, but only one I cared about).
There's the key up there too... I cared about the choices. Even if some didn't really change anything, it really makes you want to try each choice.
I heartily recommend it to anyone.
I think I'll be replaying it as a "veteran" next.
I ended up killing pretty much everyone, wasn't even intending to but was a bit annoyed when I finished the fights and could choose the kill or spare options
Who want to bet how long it will be before AP is here on GOG?
My bet is 7years.
A day ago finished the first play through, I though it was one of the best spy RPG's around and and the negative comments it got were rubbish, I thought it was like Splinter Cell 1 with some pace to it. I loved the sneaky skills, running around taking people out with the invisable takedowns.
Sooo can't wait for Fallout NV there going to do an amazing job, hope Obsidian do Alpha Protocol 2.
Second play through is going to be a no nonsense guy with a shotgun :)
Well done Obsisian!

If there's one thing about the game I'd have changed it would be to give you some visible indication of your level of stealth, it can be a bit annoying to be spotted when you're sure you should be obscured
I finished my first playthrough yesterday (mix of stealth and shotgunner). Great fun.
I started my second playthrough yesterday (stealth 98%). More difficult to play that way but it feels goooood when you make it through a mission without anyone firing at you and no alarms etc.
Fantastic game.
On my third I will go for a kill anything that moves play.
@Aliasalpha
That would be good, there is very little feedback on sneaking around. Something based on light and sound indicators would be great...
@trusteft
Pretty much exactly as I want to replay it, I went through first time just doing what I felt like.
Second will be more stealthy, then I'll see if I can be a one man army!
I feel I should repeat I am absolutely amazed that people criticize the game, Obsidian have done a fine job and I'll definitely be looking forward to New Vegas, Dungeon Siege 3 and (hopefully) Alpha Protocol 2.
One of the stealth skills gives you a "radar" where you can sense, when you activate it, enemy troops. There you can see them, even when you don't have LOS, as triangles facing a direction and color. If red, they are on full alert, and if they know where you are they will come after you, yellow, they are aware something is wrong and are looking for something, cyan, all is fine and peaceful.
If you upgrade your skills enough to get a mastery in this field (not difficult at all), then it becomes from active to passive skill and is on, all the time. Which is what works as a warning system or whatever.
For me, this makes a lot of sense. You only get it when you deploy points on stealth, since then is the time when you most need it. If you go all guns blazing, you don't care THAT much. Still, as I said it is cheap, so you can invest in it if you require it even if you don't play as a stealth character.
