Why does Gog feature a "gog in the media" section on the website? All the interviews, presentations and whatever should be there...

But anyway, thanks for sharing!
How does anyone think it's easier to buy from Steam than here? It boggles my mind but I'm from the US, so maybe it 's much harder elsewhere.
Here on GOG, both the community and the store and support for the software is top notch.

Agreed. And I might be biased towards GOG, but there is a sense of wholeness (for a lack of a better phrase) I get here oppose to other stores I buy from Desura, and GamersGate. I can't comment on Steam, as I never have used it.

It's not an official GOG thread - Licurg started it for exactly the purpose you mentioned, but it looks like the community doesn't fully embrace the idea. Back then, I had asked GOG Support to make it a Steaky, but nth came out of it after the initial reply that it would be passed on to the Marketing Team.

I'm currently living out of my home country, but my CC details and bank is still back home - to use PayPal on Steam I have to enter a very specific URL that annuls regional restrictions and allows me to use my stupid account as I see fit. The URL was given to me by customer support, so I had to wait a while before I was able to get games on Steam again. After that I've had no troubles, but with GOG it's been straightforward ever since I signed up. I understand my case is probably not common, but it is an instance where buying from GOG is actually easier, haha.
Very interesting, thanks for the link, Scampywiak.
And thanks, GOG! ^^

scampywiak: It's interesting to see them break their entire business model down in terms of basic psychology: treat the customer like humans, not consumers; give legit customers an experience that's easier than pirating; compete with brick and mortar by emulating that experience. It's fucking brilliant really, and telling that none of the major NA game companies have ever thought to try these things. The don't have the balls for it. Best part of the vid is at 37:13, where a guy asks them about Steam encroaching on the old games market. Both Marcin and Rambourg really get their hackles up. It's pretty cool.
If you think some 5/6 decades back and across industries this was the competitive differentiator for US companies versus other countries leveraging production costs. Excellent customer service was in some ways an US driven market innovation.

Amazon and Apple can still be pointed as examples of customer focus in US (in quite different models - perks and personalization, vs functional design) but are they the exception or the rule? How things change with time huh? :)
