As per Kyros' will.

A new Edict of Renaming has just been issued by Kyros the Overlord and it decrees that two of Tyranny's versions be renamed thusly:

- Commander Edition is now called Standard Edition.
- Overlord Edition is now Deluxe Edition (same for the respective upgrade).

Additionally, a new Gold Edition is now available, which includes every piece of Tyranny content that's been released, including the two expansion packs.

All versions just received a FREE update which adds two portraits and some cool pieces of gear.

To celebrate Kyro's wisdom, these Tyranny versions got their base prices readjusted and are 50% off until November 12th, 11pm UTC.

NOTE: The free content update will hit the Mac and Linux versions soon.
Meh, that's at the previous post obviously, not the one above. Can I edit in the reference... hmm, yes.

Lukaszmik: Er... GOG does have to adhere to US law when it comes to US customers.
Yes, but downvote wise it doesn't matter if what you say is true if it's something people don't like, people get downvoted for stating unpopular facts all the time. Your problem there is not accuracy, it's that every single non US person on the internet has met someone online who insists that everyone else is subject to US laws.

That's an inherent problem with up/ down vote systems, they're a measure of popularity, not of validity or quality.

As for the rest, we received a free portrait pack as advertised. Indeed, grammatically the use of "a" does mean that there are more than one option or you wouldn't use "a" but "the". For example, "I'm going to the pound to collect the cat" versus "I'm going to the pound to collect a cat". The first states that a specific cat is being collected, the second that one cat- but not one in particular- is being collected. Nitpicky for sure, but legality is all about picking nits and the difference in meaning is clear.

It's pretty much the same situation for Thronebreaker being "GOG exclusive" but now on Steam or every sale anywhere ever having discounts up to whatever the maximum discount for a single item is- semantically and legally it's accurate but it's open to misinterpretation.

Point. It's still not just annoying, but a dangerous precedent for a society in general.

Except it was perfectly grammatically correct to use "a portrait pack" in reference to the existing Portrait Pack DLC, especially considering the sentence's structure following with not only the other paid DLC, but being set in a way that makes is ambiguous if the "DLC" word there applies to just second listing, or both packs.

Was it miscommunication? Certainly. Was the miscommunicated statement legally binding (at least for US customers)? Yes. Did GOG do anything to either explain or just acknowledge the issue? No.

Not familiar with that one.
I want to see i kinda tired of "Edition" bullshit i see lately on GOG.

Like, some time ago i got Archon edition for Tyranny. Know that? At some point they said "there is no more such edition". Now they launched Gold edition which is most interested in term they added Bastard Wound in it. And as owner of Tyranny i think "why the hell i purchased it, if Gold Edition now is much more interesting option?"

Where is no upgrade to Gold. To hell, from GOG point of view i have basic Tyranny with bunch of add-ons like soundtrack. What a horrible mess.

Oh, thanks you added discount of Bastard Wound after all, because otherwise it was simply insulting - Gold edition price was just a little bigger then DLC price alone.

And that not first time i see that.
With War For The Overworld its same thing. They make Anniversary Edition in which pack all DLCs, then release new Under Games DLC and roll out NEW Ultimate edition in which all (including new) DLC is included. And one who purchased now retired Anniversary Edition is screwed, forced to pay full price for DLC.

Why the hell on GOG if i never purchased %Title% then its good deal but if i previously purchased %Title% and they release DLC i, as owner of now retired edition i cant pay moderate price for "upgrade", instead i supposed to pay full price?
Lets that Under Games, i wish to get it, but damn, its always 10% off on sale while WFTO Ultimate Edition is 65% off with ALL damn DLCs!
How its possible that Bundle containing whole game + all DLCs gave price almost same is one DLC alone?
And, Obsidian is now owned by MS... Not something we should celebrate.
Who knew, huh? The game turned into reality for them.

Hehe, how ironic :)
It's so sad to think that this might be the last update or product we ever see from Obsidian on GOG...
