What a relief! I already deleted all my payment options and contacted support. What a bad move to just send an order confirmation and not the normal "A gift for you!"-mail.
freaked me out.

I bought something yeserday, so i thought it could be that.

glad I checked before creating an issue.

Strange way of handling it indeed... perhaps they needed to *ehm* make some sale numbers look good? :P No idea why they wouldn't normally gift it, unless, of course, there was a technical problem preventing them to.
Got the same here and though i had been hacked.
Yeah, I got the same Email, whats weird is that it was in US Dollar instead of Euro. Of course the first thing i thought of was that I was hacked.

I certainly appreciate the freebie, but GOG really needed to make it clear in the email what was going on. Like many others I thought my account may have been compromised since the game had a price listed.
So... is this a gift, or will I have to pay for it? Because the site acts as if I've paid
I received the same email, saying I ordered the game for $10.53, which is a different currency to the one I use. I checked my payment methods and nothing was amiss. I was about to open a ticket with support when I saw the thread.

I do own the original on GoG, so maybe we are getting the remastered for free. I'm not complaining but it did make me worry my GoG account and/or my payment methods were compromised.

Same. Asked for a refund, changed my password. Sheer idiocy.
Same here, glad I checked the forum before messaging customer support! Should have been listed as 0.00 in your local currency rather than a dollar price. Someone messed up ^_^
Much like others I had a minor panic, changed passwords all over the place and contacted support, sending out an email with a charge in USD really made me think it was a hack/my account had been compromised. An upgrade is nice but this seems like a real miss in the execution.
LOL. I panicked, changed my password, and clicked to log out of all other devices. I appreciate the free game, GOG, but maybe next time make it a bit more clear ;)
I came here to see if anyone else received this strange email as well. I thought my account and some of my card were compromised. If this is a gift it DEFINITELY should have been worded differently on the the email.
Waiting for an official answer.
Yeah I was scared for a bit as well, thought I was hacked.
same here
