ZFR: here are my 2 cents:
You mean your two ounces.

(Seriously: this.)

ZFR: I don't visit here as often, partly due to the state of the forums and partly due to being more busy in real life, so I didn't notice this thread earlier. It seems to have already gone downhill, but since some of the discussions in the first few pages touch upon something that has made these forums less appealing to me, here are my 2 cents:

I'm not a huge fan of rtcvb, but:
*(a) He keeps all his inforwars topics in one thread only.
*(b) He makes normal helpful posts in serious/technical threads.

On the other hand, there seem to be lately an increasing number of people who
*(a) Regularly make new threads on silly topics.
*(b) Make the same type of silly posts in serious/technical threads.

I don't see his thread, subject matter aside, any different with regards to being spam from, say, the "I let's play sierra games so you don't have to" thread (of which I'm a huge fan and follow when time permits).

On the other hand, take an example of fortune_p_dawg (I don't mean to single him out, but it is the first example off the top of my head). I'd really appreciate it if he takes a leaf out of rtcvb's book and starts a "fortune_p_dawg's musings" thread rather than creating a new topic every time. In my opinion, they are definitely much closer to the spam definition than rtcvb's thread. And please cut down on that style when replying in a seroius thread. Unlike whole threads, ignoring individual posts is more difficult, and too many of these silly posts in a thread can be very distracting and break the conversation flow.

I'm really not against the silly threads in these forums. God knows, I've created and taken part in many of them myself, but you should know when to draw the line. There is a point when it stops being cute and becomes plain annoying.

Again, I don't really mean to single anyone out here. This is just my opinion.

Nice Christmas avatars by the way.
rtcvb is becoming a serious nuisance that I personally think the blues will need to start addressing soon. And I hope so because personally I am getting sick of it.

He is in fact amongst the worst kind of poster on these forums in that he is trying to use the low moderation to inflict his fucked up ideas and beliefs on the community- mind you that these ideas and beliefs are not even his own- they are simply cut and paste jobs.

There is not one single, NOT ONE SINGLE word in his dump posts that has come from his own mouth.

You cannot rationalise with such types of individual, they have gone beyond all reasoning.

I realise that some will cry for free speech and the damage it will cause if he is silenced. I say this, you will not be silencing anything other than one mans links to somebody else's opinion- anyone can get a hold of this shit directly from Infowars if they so choose. Why should it be tolerated here? It is moral, religious and political opinions, many of which are extreme and unsubstantiated, force fed on this community. I will now go as far as to say that I am becoming offended by rtcvb.

HA! They left it unchecked for 3 months, they're not gonna do anything about it now.

Hopefully after 3 months the blues can see that this thread is only kept alive by rtcvb spamming contentious crap that does in fact annoy anyone with a logical bone in their body.

I see.

Anyone that can post me a link to the community manager or other blue that may be able to shed light on this type of poster/behaviour (rtcvb)- I would be most grateful.

Edit :nevermind, sent a message to fables to see what can be done.

So posting news articles are somehow beliefs? This is new.

I'm sure that saying Japanese people are giving up on the dating scene and just marrying friends... is just a good old f**ked up belief on my part too? Nevermind the reality....

If you dislike the thread, ignore it.

Curiously you aren't complaining about Alaric.us's disappearing-reappearing thread... #39 so it's been created 40 times now.

A certain type of people cannot tolerate the fact that someone disagrees with them. Instead of learning to coexist with or simply ignore other opinions, they want to completely silence them.

A person is religious? OMG I CAN'T HANDLE IT! DELETE THEIR THREAD!!!
A person is an atheist? OMG I CAN'T HANDLE IT! DELETE THEIR THREAD!!!
A person is a conspiracy theorist? OMG I CAN'T HANDLE IT! DELETE THEIR THREAD!!!
A person doesn't like Baldur's Gate? OMG I CAN'T HANDLE IT! DELETE THEIR THREAD!!!
A person leans right? OMG I CAN'T HANDLE IT! DELETE THEIR THREAD!!!
A person leans left? OMG I CAN'T HANDLE IT! DELETE THEIR THREAD!!!
A person thinks they have 32 genders? OMG I CAN'T HANDLE IT! DELETE THEIR THREAD!!!
A person says there are only 2 genders? OMG I CAN'T HANDLE IT! DELETE THEIR THREAD!!!

A bit funny to watch, but sad at the same time. Oh well.

Now, if your threads (that don't violate the forum rules and are not illegal) are regularly deleted, send me a message in chat. Let's see what we can do about that.

In this case, yes. The article you link doesn't link its sources, it only names them in very vague terms, it also misrepresents the findings (it's not 69% of men that do not have a romantic partner, it's 69% of the singles surveyed, ignoring the 7.5K of married couples surveyed). The links they have are to "rumors" and to itself.

The statement may very well be true, but the site you chose to link makes that a belief that the article is true, not a fact. As they used to say to reporters back in the day, get confirmation from at least two independent sources before believing the item. The linked article by itself is a belief (of you, that they know what they are talking about), but it's not by itself a fact. Not to mention that when I read the title I understood it as "giving up on dating scene and giving up on just marrying friends".

So yes, your article is a belief, not a fact, even if that may be the case for the Japanese people.

Of course they violate the forum rules.

"Don't spam or troll. Posting in topics or threads for the sole purpose of flooding and causing unrest on the forums, “bumping” existing topics or creating forum petitions won't be tolerated;"

So you are saying that posting a belief is something that must not be done?

"Witcher 3 is a good game." That's a belief. Are you suggesting such vile non-factual information is to be exterminated on sight?

At this point I think anything coming from you needs to be exterminated on site, including genes. :D

Perhaps. I recall watching a video on Japanese and synthetic relationships, of the males becoming more feminine and the sexual interest/attraction is fairly low, and the aging population won't have enough young to keep it going. Not to forget the high suicide rates in Japan schools.

Still it's interesting to read and learn about as one solution some are taking, just giving up on dating and pursuing a family. This is sorta just the next step in what appears to be going on.
