Licurg: What ???
I think he's referring to the color palette of Quake being very... erh...

...brown
Now all we need is DOOM 64...the genuine DOOM III.

Now all we need is Heretic and Hexen :-)
Loving life here. Just got the package and I am ashamed to admit that Quake 1 is the only Quake game I've never played, and after 30 minutes I have to say I'M REALLY REALLY IMPRESSED. Glad I picked up Doom, but there is a lot of nostalgia there whereas IMHO Quake 1 still stands as an all around solid shooter. It looks good and sounds great.

Of course I'm a tad biased now because the newer Quake games are easy to play whereas Doom has turned into a DRM nightmare.

That too!
So... it has finally happened. The first few games I looked for when I joined up here (and, for me, the last remaining major "wishlist" items) have arrived. Now, all I need is a cool drink (well, maybe a six-pack) and a couple of days (or weeks, or years) "alone time"... Doomguy, we meet again. Back to hell it is. Rip and tear!

Can't wait to see more Bethesda/id stuff in the coming weeks (but with classic Fallout, Elder Scrolls and Doom/Quake, this should more than fulfill anyone's immediate needs...) All hail the mighty GOG, for once again managing to make the impossible possible!

Sabin_Stargem: the genuine DOOM III.
No way. I got a new PC, reinstalled D3 (cd rom original version), it automatically updated, and now it is virtually unplayable. They stuck so much crap on there it takes 30 minutes just to play a SP off line game.

DustFalcon1985: Yes the Quake 1 addons come w/ the territory AFAIK.
Thanks!
But I think we need clarification from GoG team.

gandalfnho: Hope Wolfenstein and Heretic are next!
The real FPS grandad and the great "medieval Doom" ; )

RudyLis: Not that I'm ungrateful, but without Quake 2 this bundle looks incomplete. Like Geralt without Roach, Dandelion without women, Zoltan without alcohol, Yennifer without bossing around...

Besides, are Q1 addons there or not? I like that laser cannon from one of them. I think I still have disk with it at my parents home. :D
I was really hoping to see Quake 2 with all the mission packs.

No kidding, the same thing happened when I tried playing the DOOM 3 demo on my old Dell Dimension 3100 with the stock Intel graphics card... and it always crashed after stuttering its way past the intro videos.

Kidding aside, I don't think I've ever had issues with DOOM 3 that couldn't be attributed to less-than-stellar hardware.

"Quake including Mission Pack 1 and 2" from the release post. Also, from the game's page:

"This GOG release also contains the two expansions for this first installment, “Quake Mission Pack No. 1: Scourge of Armagon” and “Quake Mission Pack No. 2: Dissolution of Eternity”, bringing even more interdimensional horrors and weapons to your PC"
Few questions about this pack:

1) I know Quake comes with the cd audio soundtrack but does it come with a) MP3/OGG files, b) FLAC/WAV files, or c) an ISO of the original disc? I'd be very disappointed if the audio tracks were in a lossy compressed format (read- destroyed)

2) Does the DOS version come with Quake? I'm guessing no...

3) I think this was mentioned but I'll ask anyway because I forget, are the Doom releases DOS or 95?

Another point of interest and a tiny plug, if anyone wants to play these games with source ports (Z/GZDoom or Chocolate Doom) and their original SC-55 soundtracks, I have them authentically recorded and available for download at my website SC-55 Music Packs . The only tracks I don't have yet are for TNT. These tracks are available in lossless FLAC and contain metadata loop tags for seamless looping playback (the tracks fadeout normally when listening in a music player out of game).

So say we all
True classic although I would not play it anymore (aged too badly).
