I click on any game to start and I get a message to update GOG Galaxy to ver. 1.2.47. But I already have ver. 1.2.47. Is there a way to stop this? It's more of an annoyence but still...

First, maybe try disabling beta updates in Galaxy settings.

Try using the Run... window (WinKey+R key combination) and entering:
%programdata%\GOG.com\Galaxy

Remove selfupdate.json file from there, and restart Galaxy. That should force trigger an update. See if that helps.

Took the words right out of my... Hang on a minute did you say *.json files just like SHTEAM used to have OH NO steam has taken over everything... NooOooOooOooOoo NOT STEAM galaxy is turning into a steam client!
