Trilarion: Just a minor nitpicking. Statistically speaking a single example is not worth too much. It could still be that they do not care very much about their customers and do not support other games on a comparable level. Not saying they do that, but that giving a single good example statistically doesn't say much either way.
I know, I can only speak for myself. And even then, I'm not always happy about how GOG handles things (the whole Galaxy-on-Linux thing is a joke, for example, and I'm a Windows/Linux user). But this time it was a really nice surprise to get this level of support, quite pleasing and unexpected. I'm the first in line when it's time to complain, but I think that we should also praise them when it's time to praise.

Desmight: I'm simply speechless, but honestly this is why I prefer GOG: the human approach. You care about your customers. I play on two different PCs (desktop and laptop) and this feature is really welcomed in every game that supports it, so thank you GOG. Thank you very much.
That's it, just wanting to let everyone know that GOG is a really good guy.

darthspudius: Who else would be answering if not a human?
Considering that my support request on Humble Bundle has gone unanswered for four years and counting, I prefer to have at least some humans answering things. With GOG, it has always been less than 48 hours for me.
Nice, even if.. this was most certainly just a coincidence.
Gog didn't surely add cloud saves in a few days after an user request..

JAAHAS: Although as long as the Galaxy client doesn't allow us to separately set which of the supported games we would wish to enable the cloud saves for [...]

Desmight: You can! It's opt-out. Go to the game page in Galaxy -> More -> Settings -> Check/Uncheck Sync Local Saves with GOG Galaxy Cloud
Note: the game must be installed to do this.
Once I have installed a game on any post Pentium MMX era computer it needs to turn out to be really bad to have me ever uninstall it, so what I need from the Galaxy client is to be able to opt-in for the cloud saves for only those games I am currently playing. I don't want to give the client any chance to accidentally corrupt saves for games I don't intend to play for a while.

Desmight: I don't know who did it, but thank you. A few days ago I submitted a support request to get cloud saves added to the GOG version of Dying Light. Today, a support guy answered me telling that he would pass my request to the tech team, but that he could not tell me if/when the cloud saves would be implemented.
Right now, cloud saves have been added to Dying Light.

What was your ticket about in Humble?
I didn't contact them all that much, but never had a request or email stay not answered in over a week, I believe.

Thats great to know that GOG can sometimes pull things through, now lets see how fast they can convince Techland to drop Denuvo from Dying Light 2 when it inevitably launches with it.

Cambrey: Finally a positive comment about gog!
Yeah I keep hearing these claims that GOG never listens to its customers and blaablaablaa...

...yet today I noticed for the first time that GOG has apparently at some point added a "Verified owner" tag on those game reviews where the reviewer (apparently) owns the game on GOG. Wasn't that like one of the most requested features for GOG, at least for the review department?

I thought there'd be some big party celebrating that, but nooooo. People are like "meh" now that it has been implemented as requested.

(To me personally that is not that a big thing but ok it is nice. To me a bigger nice thing was when GOG scrapped the idea of embedding Galaxy-installers to the offline game installers.)

It's nice, and it got positive response in some threads, if you look back.

The problem is, it came with the same update that removed GOG mixes, messed the front page, introduced autoplay videos, etc. so the positive comments were lost in the noise of all negative feedback.

Had that been an update that introduced verified reviews and nothing else, I'm sure it would have been a 100% positive celebration with party hats.
