SirPrimalform: I'm assuming the bundle you bought was the HIB 20?
The ones named as
Humble Indie Bundles are still DRM-free, but for a long time now the vast majority of bundles they run have been extremely Steam focused, with DRM-free versions occasionally included as an afterthought. Given that with the monthly you are effectively buying blind, I would recommend against it if getting DRM-free versions matters to you.
Right, the Indie bundle. I had
Among the Sleep already, but the other two lowest tier games were on my wishlist (even though I'm not sure
The First Tree runs on this laptop).
Crisco1492: I just dipped my toe in the waters that are Humble Bundle, and was happy to see that all of the games in my bundle had DRM free versions that could be downloaded via Torrent or web downloader (of course, the fact that two of them were on my wishlist here helped). Now, before I make the leap and subscribe for the monthly bundles... is it worth it? I mean, sure $12 isn't all that much -- even in Indonesia -- but what percentage of games are actually DRM free? Would most of the games available to me be playable on a NVIDIA 940MX? I can't see myself installing the Steam client anytime soon, and a graphics card update isn't going to happen for at least two years.
Grargar: If you have no intention of installing Steam, I'd suggest skipping Humble Monthly, as the vast majority of games are only available as Steam keys. The previous monthly had a whooping 3 out of 9 games available as DRM-Free direct downloads and even that was better than the average.
Ouch. Let me guess: the three games that are already at GOG?
But smaller bundles are generally more DRM-free friendly, right? All seven of the HIB20 games seem to be DRM-free, at least from their thumbnails.
