I was researching why youtube is so slow on my pc (firefox/linux) and after solving this through this method, I browsed more and discovered...

this topic, which completely solved slow GOG forum pages, including sluggish banner on front page. Give it a try, if you dare :)

Cпасибо!

Should help a tonne on my laptop.
YouTube isn’t slow, those adverts bang on in 10 to the second, no delays or anything.
Idk it has always been smooth to me when I am on firefox and linux.

One can if first one is an issue, by enabling the "statistic for nerds/sysadmins", especially in fullscreen video at high res. If you have heavy framedrops, then you are affected. This one is due to VAAPI not enabled by FX by default on Linux.

One can test second issue by scrolling large text or GOG front page, after the change the boost is extreme, if there is no boost, then you are not affected. This is due to problematic hook into accessibility by FX itself.

If you ain't affected by this in Linux, then ,without any sarcasm, its a technological miracle and you may want to post your software/hardware setup on the linked pages under "not affected" tag, it will help a bunch, thank you!

I was puzzled by this thread, since the site was always responsive for me outside of server problems. Then I noticed the fix is to set a preference the way I've always had it configured
