So, apparently Amazon is not only working on a Lord of the Rings series, they are also working on a Conan series as well. I'm a big fan of Conan, I've just recently picked up the book I was missing and am currently about halfway through Hour of the Dragon. The previous live-action Conan TV show was pretty fun, but tonally was a strange mix of Conan the Destroyer and Hercules/Xena, so I'm hoping they're planning on it being closer to the original stories.

a couple of months ago i read a conan comic, i went in with almost no expectations and it was excellent. my only experience with this character prior were the 80s arnold movies. but yeah, conan comic was awesome. go me!
The show creators are saying the right stuff for the most part, but of course people in Hollywood always claim to be huge fans right before they start changing stuff. Hopefully this will at last do justice to the original stories instead of being yet another Arnold retread.
What I really want is that King Conan movie with Schwarzenegger. If a succesfull TV show can help make it happen - power to it. Though I guess it might kill any chance for a movie just as well, if it's decided that having two Conans simultanously would not work.

Actually, the best thing would be if Amazon got Arnold on board for this. They could use old Conan, kingof Aquilonia reminiscing about his adventures as a framing device for all the otherwise unconnected stories, and then finish the series with old Conan's last grand adventure by adapting Hour of the Dragon as a multi-part episode or a feature lenght movie.

Edit: Hell, apparently Arnold is already working with Amazon on another series, so this really isn't that far outside the realm of probability.
