I have used GOG Downloader tons before and it never failed me, not even once... until tonight. Looking for a game, I stumbled upon this great game Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Father. I bought the game and started downloading it using GOG Downloader, but I saw that it was over 2 gb so I paused it and planned to resume the download as I slept through the night. However I accidentally closed the downloader. I opened it up again to see if it's still there--should be paused--and it is, but the downloader stopped responding. I did everything I could think of: reinstalling the downloader, restarting, whatever. It's still freezing up the moment I open the downloader, with the game still in the download menu. Help me anyone, please? This is really frustrating.

I included a photo just to show you guys what I'm seeing every time I open the downloader. It's stuck there.

I use a Mac btw.

How long did you wait? Could it be the legacy GOG Downloader is checking the partially downloaded game before continuing, and that seems like being frozen to you?

Just a shot in the dark, I haven't used that piece of shit legacy client for a long time. It is a total mess, an alpha product pretending to be beta yadda yadda yadda, and it causes cancer too.

I'm fairly sure it's done this to me before when I've paused and resumed a download.
How long have you left it sitting open before assuming it wasn't working?

Let me see... I think I've waited at least 15 minutes for it to just work. I know I waited longer than that. Whenever I would go to the "tab manager," the application is considered "not responding." Should I wait longer than that? Because I really think it wouldn't work to wait it out.

Alright, I'll let it load longer. If overnight it hasn't resumed, then something is seriously wrong with it. If you guys have any more ideas, I'm open to it.

Perhaps not then... I would assume that 15 - 30 minutes would be more than enough to get itself in gear... and the fact it's showing as not responding isn't great.

Have you tried deleting the semi downloaded file? It will mean completely restarting the download but that seems kind of inevitable at this point anyway...
Just so you know, GOG Galaxy does have a download pause function. I have no idea how long it has been there, but I just tested it with LOOM and that appears to have worked successfully. Of course, that was a short pause.
I don't know what did it, but the download resumed when I opened it just now. I've been letting it load for five minutes then quitting it, then opening and letting it load again. It seemed to work (not sure what it was) but it's all good now. I just stopped the download altogether. I'll try downloading the game later. Thanks everyone for the help! I'm just glad this stopped not responding.
