So I'm checking out GOG Galaxy and telling it to Import Folders. Latest imports started failing due to disk error so have to stop importing and download instead. Only I told one game to abort before Galaxy reported the disk error, now I have a game stuck on "aborting..."

Any ideas how to get the abort to finish so I can do a complete reinstall for Galaxy?

What kind of disk error you got?

Disk Access Error:

It could be your anti-virus which is blocking something. Disable it and see if you can install a game without problems. Or try to run Galaxy as administrator and see if this helps. And have a look here (same error message):

OUT OF DISK SPACE

To change the downloads folder, click the gear (cog) icon in the lower-left corner of the main window. Folder options are found at the bottom of the Settings window.
By default, Galaxy will install games into your current GOG Games folder, and will download into a sub-folder created within. You can choose completely different download folders by checking the "Manage all folders manually" option.

If there was a download in progress while you were changing the folder, unfortunately the game will keep downloading to the previous one.
To make sure that the game is downloaded to the changed folder, you need to cancel the download first, and then start it again.
To do this, select the currently downloaded game, and click on MORE -> ABORT.

When you choose to install the game again, it will be downloaded to the new folder.

No, I've fixed the disk access error by re-downloading everything that I wasn't able to install via import. I did tell one game to abort but it's still aborting! How do I get this to stop?

Hey there! I'm having a similar issue to the OP in that one of my games is stuck on "Aborting". Although my case is a little different (the problem started when I tried to cancel a download), I thought I may as well follow the same steps.

Unfortunately, I think I need a bit of extra clarification: I don't know where to find "webcache/2", "storage/2" or "support/2". As well as that, when I click "More" on the game's page, "Configuration" doesn't seem to show up, and I can't select any of the options after "Manage installation".

Feel free to reply if you'd like more details, or if you have any extra advice!

To find out where the folders are, simply put one of the following lines into run window (simultaneously press the Windows and R keys on your keyboard). Tap enter and new explorer window with one of the galaxy paths should open. Clean up the folder with the game you're looking for and see if that works..
I am not using Windows for quite some time now and I am not sure if this will help to be honest : D Please, let us know how things went!

update:
Just tried out Galaxy in a Windows 7 virtual machine and paths seems to be a bit changed. Try the new paths from the quote above (usually C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy)
I'd try cleaning the webcache folder first if I were you, starting up Galaxy and if nothing changed, deleting jobs.db from the storage folder.

Thanks for taking the time to help, mike! I used the "run Window" thing you mentioned to find the webcache folder, and after that I managed to find the Star Wars: Dark Forces folder. However, before I do anything else, I just want to be sure what you mean by "cleaning up"; do I just delete everything in that folder (the Star Wars one), or is there a more specific thing I need to do?

If that's the game you're facing problem with, feel free to delete whole Dark Forces folder.

Would be great if you'd send Galaxy logs to mantis Someone from the Galaxy team should have a look to prevent such a troubles in the future.

So, I deleted the Star Wars: Dark Forces folder in the webcache. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, nothing has really changed and the game is still stuck on aborting.

As for "mantis", I'm assuming it's a site that I can report problems and errors from? If it is, I'd be more than happy to send those logs over. Do I do that from the "Report Issue" section or the "Change Log" section?

Sad to hear the trick didn't work for you. How about deleting %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\support\1421404433 folder? If you have one.. You may also try to temporary rename/move index.db file from the storage folder. After that, however, you will have to import all your games again to Galaxy..

Yes, mantis should be the best place to report Galaxy bugs, log in with your GOG credentials and use Report Issue section.
There is sticky GOG Galaxy - Official Discussion Thread, you may have some luck over there. Sadly I couldn't reproduce your bug in a virtualbox, all the games I have tried aborted correctly.

So, while I was in the middle of looking for another solution to the problem, my laptop suddenly closed every running application and carried out some kind of update. Then, when everything loaded back up and I opened the GOG client, the "abort download" process actually started working and, within a few seconds, finished.

I don't know whether the solution was giving GOG a total shutdown, or whether deleting those webcache folders finally kicked in, but either way everything seems to be fine!
