Can't go wrong with the STALKER series, hours upon hours of gameplay. Even more so if you getting into the modding side of things, I'd highly recommend Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat.

Or if you fancy an RPG with some of the best writing around, and a few magical set pieces, Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines!
