Some posts here show that after almost a century of western capitalistic propaganda, the conditioning is still strong. But who am I to blame. I believed that bullshit too until a decade ago and until I started to learn more about the topic.
From the OP Youtube-video:

"Professor of Anthropology".

Hmmm... sounds like a bullshit job to me. What does a professor of anthropology do anyway? If he was on a desert island with a medical doctor, a survivalist chef, a farmer, a fisherman, a boat builder, an engineer etc., what extra value would the professor of anthropolology add to that group, in order to survive in harsh conditions under the palm trees?

Frankly, I think the others would just kill him and eat him. That's where his real value is.

Did you join an university a decade ago by any chance? I think I saw a South Park episode of that, it was the one where Eric Cartman hunted down hippies which were roaming around in his neighborhood.

I'm from a nanny state called Finland, by the way. I recall we are the second most equal society in the world, right after Iceland or was it Norway, how the heck should I remember. So my "capitalistic views" might be considered as socialistic in many other parts of the world. No I am not against e.g. public health care or ability for anyone to get a higher education (regardless of whether their parents can afford it), but in here my views seem to be regarded right-wing, I guess.

awalterj: 'Experts' (all of them, especially the ones quoted by news outlets)

An anti-tank system doesn't have to be a tank itself - ideally it's something more simple, affordable and effective than a tank. Unlike "experts" I don't even get paid for voicing my opinion so I'm quite cost efficient!

No, I didn't. In 2007/8 just happened the global financial crisis and I became interested in Kabarett which some here would likely see as "left propaganda". You know, just like what George Carlin did.
Does your question also mean that you think one can only get education in schools and universities?

Yeah, I heard that too and I tend to belief that this claim is right. Richard Wolff - you know, the Marxist economist, whose lecture I often linked here, says that the Sovietunion was rather state capitalism than true socialism because the state or the government was the employer instead of some private owners. If the workers of a company were also their own employers and owners of the company than that would have been socialism. Just like in a worker-coop or a Genossenschaft.
I was interested in that topic before the coming of the anti-intellectual wage slaves brigade working jobs that are going to be replaced by machines.

In the US you'd be left wing. Just saying. The Right is for individualized rights and less gov't intervention. The left believe everyone should get certain basic thing (and more in extreme cases) regardless of contributions to society. Don't know if Right/left is generally the same everywhere.
What utter nonsense! If an employer is willing to pay someone to do a job, and another person is willing to do it at the agreed upon wage then that job has value. No amount of elitist smarm, from an anthropology professor or anyone else, diminishes the value placed on that job by the employee and employer.

In your logic an employer could be willing to pay someone, who would be willing to do it for the offered wage, for whipping employees every time they don't work as hard as the employer wants them to and this job would be perfectly valuable.

Yes, were it not for things such as labor and workplace laws. And also the point Stevedog mentions about another person willing to do the work. Odds are, if you're getting whipped to perform your job then you're not going to be willing to do that work.

That said, my wife is thinking about quitting her job and working with me, and I can assure you there would be the occasional spanking.
