I would like to be able to access my desktop while playing a game with GOG Galaxy, but the Windows key does not work. Is there a work around?

Or how do I play my game in window mode, where I could just minimize the widow?

Windows 10

Tropico 1 & 2
SMAC Planetary Pack

Thank You

You're not playing games with Galaxy, it just launches the games. (+overlay, cloud saving, etc. if you want it)
Windowed mode depends on the implementation in each game separately. If the developer didn't add it then an external tool might help; this e.g.: https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases

I've never seen a game that blocks the WIndows key or Alt-Tab, but sure that could be possible I guess.

For SMAC, you'll have to tweak a setting in the configuration INI (for whichever game you are playing) so it doesn't use DirectDraw; invoking a fullscreen session.

Have you tried Win+D or Alt+Enter?

There are a few games I play that block the Windows key, even Windowed. I have to change focus, first. I can still use the Windows key as a modifier for scripts, but not for anything Windows-related while the game has the focus.

Thanks, I didn't know that.

I downloaded Borderless, but haven't been able to figure out how to use it yet. I may be too old for this stuff. ;-)

Try Win+M and Alt+Ctrl+Del then. :p
