So seeing as how Hooyah's awesome "little" forum game(link below this bit) has reached and surpassed a pretty decent milestone(2000 posts) I figured i'd celebrate by hosting a small giveaway for all who have played that forum game so far & also somewhat for everyone else as well. :)

Be aware, this contest is different from others in a few ways(some listed now and others listed below), so I ask everyone to please pay attention to the rules very carefully(even more so than other times) so that everyone who enters does so properly.

That said, the info/rules:

Prizes/potential entrants

First Prize: 1 (US)10 dollar game(or games up to that value) chosen from the catalog
Eligible entrants: Anyone who posted in ANY forum game on or before February 10th, 2020 can enter for this one for themselves, OR on behalf of a user of their choosing who is otherwise ineligible for this prize.

Second Prize: 1 (US)5 dollar game(or games up to that value) chosen from the catalog
Eligible entrants: Anyone on the site who hasn't posted to the above linked forum game BEFORE post 2000 registered January 2020 or before that doesn't appear to be a scammer(i.e. if someone has 0 games on their account I will scrutinize their entry).

(A "Door prize" of 5 rep points is also on offer & will be awarded to the "best" post, from all posters to the thread[entrants or those not entering] :))

Rules
(If anything is hard to figure out please ask me here and I will do my best to explain it better)

0. To enter, list a favorite game or hobby/past time & which of the two prizes you are entering for from the list above. ALSO, if you are entering for the 10 dollar prize make sure to list/link to one post you made in ANY forum game(even if you're going to nominate another user) so I can verify your eligibility.

1. One can only enter for one of the above listed prizes...that means someone who is eligible for the 10 dollar prize cannot enter for the smaller prize as well, and if someone ineligible for the 10 dollar prize is nominated by an eligible user they cannot also enter for the 5 dollar smaller prize.

2. The contest will go until February 26th at 12 PM(give or take a few hours) Eastern Standard Time, and prizes will be handed out on the 1st of March, 2020 or slightly after(when I get paid).

All winners will be picked via RNG, and I will ask each one what they want(when it comes time to pay out the prizes) from the catalog/any possible sales around that time.

3. No trading away/selling games won(for money/other games) without explicitly stating that is why one is entering(I am ok with such if people are truthful about it when entering). If someone wins and then tries to sell or trade their key without telling me beforehand(when entering) there is a good chance that user might be blacklisted from a few future giveaways.

4. One does not need to pick their games or state them here until it is time for them to be awarded, but if one does list them(for any reason) they can change them at any point before being awarded their prize(if they win). This way a user can take advantage of any sales around that time if their desired games are on sale.

5. All winners must either have PMs set to allow anyone to PM them or make me a friend on the site in the event they win, so I can PM their prize if they win.

Optional guidelines

1. No uprating is desired or wanted EXCEPT(if one wants to do so) to uprate the first post so the thread stays visible to other users/potential entrants.

If people want to be more kind, i'd much rather people uprate the people who say nice words or who thank others in this contest/thread than for my other posts to be uprated(barring, as I said, the first post for the reasons listed above). :)

2. Treat other entrants and posters with a modicum of respect, even if you have disagreements with them on the forum for any reason.

3. When picking games, winners should make sure to try and pick games that are supported(or will run) on their OS/machine, so as to not be stuck with games one can't play.

I like messing with computers, building, talking about them ect it is something I like doing.

One cannot gift DLC I think unless they own the base game(stupid gog rule, I know).....I will put you down for the 5 dollar contest draw and you can(like everyone) pick from any games on offer/in the catalog around the 1st of March or so if you win.

Yeah, I think one has to own base games to even buy DLC as gifts...silly huh?That or any games at or around 5 dollars at normal price in the catalog at the time prizes are awarded.Sounds like a plan, then, and I hope it goes on sale around then so you can get it if you win. :)

Hello, GameRager, and thank you very much for this generous giveaway.
To verify my eligibility for the 10$ prize, I'll link to this masterpiece of mine.
You say, to enter one has to list a favorite game or hobby/past time... well, thinking of ever new clever things to write in Hooyah's forum games is certainly one! Apart from that, I think "gaming" in general counts as a favorite past time, since we're on GOG forum after all... and I spend way too much time on YouTube.
As for games: if you mean videogames in particular, there are a few that immediately spring to my mind, like Half-Life, Thief, Deus Ex, Painkiller (OK I'm old). If you mean games in general, I'd say chess (wonderful game, even though I cannot play it...)
BTW, I can already state which game I'm entering for, and that would be Diablo (9.09€ for me at full price, so I think it qualifies).

I know I'm stupid, but I can't seem to find anywhere in the rules how exactly the winner will be chosen. Random chance? Your personal preference?

(And yeah all of that counts......the requirement is mainly there to put up a small hurdle to weed out the scammers/etc and make this more interesting for all involved, and most answers will likely be accepted if someone makes an effort[as you did])

I like all those things as well(even chess....both digital game versions and the old school physical sets....although with some of my mental issues it's harder for me to play the physical sets[afraid of small objects for the past decade or a bit more]. I still love the game, though, and the PC games you listed as well). :)

That's fine, though I won't list any games as "set in stone" as the contest is setup so that any winners can change their minds around the payout date if something better comes to mind(like games on one's wishlist in a sale).

OK, we'll see... but that's a game I'm going to buy and play in the near future anyway, so it comes naturally as a first choice.

You can pick whatever game/games you want if you win...I only refrain from marking down any choice right now for any entrants to be fair in case someone changes their mind later or a sale happens around when I pay out the prizes. :)

Well there aren't any other entrants now for that prize, so i'd say that if that trend stays close to that & the amount of entries stays low your chances will be good. :)
