JudasIscariot: Hi,
I did some research into ATI and how they provide drivers to OEMs. I did find drivers from 2009 that were a later version than what was released to HP. Unfortunately, I don't know if they'll work or not due to how ATI handles driver distribution to OEMs.
[url= link contains the drivers I found.[/url]
As I said before I am not sure these drivers will help in any way but I thought I'd try and find something. Before doing anything, please make a restore point and ensure you have an easy way to roll back to your original driver in case something goes pear-shaped.
iprigg: Well, I download the drivers from the link. However, These drivers were not digitally signed and when installed they didn't seem to fully identify my card. So I didn't got shader 3.0 capabilities as well as resolutions was set to a maximum of 1600x1200, while my laptop supports 1920x1200. In the driver manager my card was recognized as a standard vga card and not an ati one. They were also very slow, probably because they didn't exploit the card's chipset. But the most interesting thing was that the game run perfectly without any distortion!!!! This made me suspicious. So What I did next was to restore the digitally signed drivers but not the latest ones (v8.590.0.0 [13/2/2009]), which I had previous, not even the second latest (8.453.1.2000[27/3/2008]), I restored some very old I had which were dated back to 2/3/2006 (v8.223.4.0). And guess what, now enda plays perfectly without any distortion. I suppose I will keep these drivers until I finished Edna and then go back to the newer again.
So thank you, for your time and dedication, though you didn't indicate the exact solution, your suggestions, provided the trigger for me to "accidentally" solve the problem.
To sum up the correct solution is "Do not install the latest drivers". I do not know why, perhaps it is an older game?
Thanks again!
Well, I am glad to hear that we, well mostly you :P, got the issue resolved somehow :D. Sorry if I couldn't be of anymore help and enjoy your game! :D.
