ToasterMeltdown: Frequently when the combat starts, the game goes unresponsive and just freezes on that screen. Why does it keep
happening? I'm running the game on Win7 64-bit. Haven't managed to finish a single round, because eventually it freezes on combat.

ToasterMeltdown: There's no additional information to that, either way I got it working with vm with an image of Win Xp.
edit: By the way it's a great game, I've played it already for almost 20h.
It's awesome that you got it working but we'd like to hear about these kind of things so that we can get a better grip on which systems are affected. If there is a common link that we can isolate then we can work on fixing the game more and make it work better on the affected systems without having to resort to workarounds like you described in your second post :)
