Looking it up myself it appears there is no abandonware protection under law as I thought. It appears the companies just don't enforce it because it's not really worth it from a financial standpoint.

Wonder if I remembered that wrong or heard it somewhere way back in the day, could have sworn there was protection for old stuff to avoid IP hoarding.

There certainly SHOULD be some form of protection imo, but America's consumer protection laws favor businesses over the consumer a bit more than I would personally like for a capitalist system such as ours.

I've sent my scanned manual (English version, like the one already attached, but a new scan I did myself a few days ago) via e-mail. Basically I uploaded on my Google Drive and sent the link to GOG.

I suppose the GOG "contact us" form could work as well.

If I'm lucky I'll find where my other English version box is hiding in my house and will be able to scan its booklets as well (they were different, still in English)

That's my opinion on it, I appreciate your positive attitude (I really am not trying to be overly critical or anything) but you can't just let people like that go all the time.

Notice how he is silent while I admitted any mistake I made ethically, A BIG difference there you aren't acknowledging, and it's a shame I have to defend myself alone on this when that seems so glaringly clear here.

I should note a few things about the English manual.

The European English release has this manual, that is included with the GOG version. Its outer pages are colored, but the inner pages are black and white, and most of the background images are particularly low-res. It also has the "EPSER" misspelling :D

In comparison the German release has a similar manual but all of its pages are colored, the background images are of better resolution and "ESPER" is spelled correctly.

However, there was at least another English boxed release (the US release, and also the East Asia Only release) that had another variation of the manual (same content iirc, but different layout), as well as another smaller "Behind the scenes" booklet. I own this box too, but it seems to have been lost somewhere in old storage. If I find them, I'll scan those as well and share with GOG.

Of course, if anyone has those ones handy, they're welcome to scan them instead :) Who knows when or if I'll find mine.
