Redshirt_dies Good thing I still have my original CD of this. Too bad I don't a CDROM anymore. For anyone interested the newest Dune game by Funcom is available in early access but it stinks to high heavens. Plays like a mobile game. Incremental gaming type of thing.
Vamrem What? This game isn't on any store? I came from some gameplays on Youtube, so, where come they from? Torrents or old physical version? There isn't an official way to buy it today? Come on GOG, this is the game who defined one of the most enjoyable genres: Strategy!

^^ Indeed except without cd ver. cause that's not part of today's gaming. Also cd's are out of date & add extra weight to E Waste on planet & sentient beings living on this third rock from the sun. Every Arrakis fan should've been & should from now on write to Brian Herbert to his Twitter or send email & mention about loosening the reigns that hold the license. We need new well made Dune Rts that has good budget & old Dune games here in GoG without install disks. Yes there's new Dune inc. wayyy later. That's in development by Funcom & it's gonna be part of survival genre. Can't imagine how that works out for Dune Univ. game, but maybe Funcom crew can surprise us. There's not even pre gameplay footage shown so it's release is maybe years away.

Catventurer I would love to see this one here but as others have stated, the issue isn't even GOG in this case and is entirely a licensing issue.
In this case, the problem is that the individual(s) that own the rights to Dune don't like the movie that Dune, Dune 2 and Dune 2000 are all based on thus do not want any of these games re-released. The games are essentially stuck in gaming purgatory for the unforeseeable future.

Nervensaegen That might turn out to be difficult. I read the licenses are with Herbert Properties LLC these days, who have shown no interest of reviving either title.
I would love to see the 1992 Dune by Cryo Interactive, especially the later CD version. But it would appear that unless Herbert Properties has a change of heart, we might have to contempt ourselves with the fanmade remakes.
A shame, really, especially when you consider that we also miss out on the brilliant soundtrack of the 1992 Dune.

freetimefortom I'm not sure if this comment will stay visible at the first read of this topic. But I want to tell you that, we may have to wait a long time for this wish to be fulfilled. GoG tried to make it happen(kudos to them) but there are right and license problems about the properties. The present owners of the rights don't wish to revive the Dune games.
