Remove all javascript
Javashit killed the world wide web.
It is annoying to scroll when the list is one endless page, I like the short pages system.
About the screenshots, I don't know if it is related with Javascript but it annoys me when I cannot switch from picture to picture with the keyboard arrow keys and I have to click on a picture then close it and click on another one by one. So if we can switch from picture to picture with the keyboard arrow keys without Javascript then I'm fine with removing it. :-)
And I totally agree that it is annoying to open a new tab each time that we post or create a topic!
Not necessarily remove all javascript, but improve the site so that it's a lot less javascript-heavy (The CPU usage of this site is fairly high; Not as bad as say, Dell, but a lot heavier than Slashdot!) and write the code so it gracefully degrades so it's still usable if javascript is disabled or not 100% supported by the browser.
To be fair it's gotten better; There was a time when this site was unusable on my retro-PC, but now it's merely painful :)
I wouldn't mind a little javascript except since an update a while back the website makes chrome and firefox use a ridiculous amount of CPU just from being open and makes my fans sound like a jet engine. They should do that when I'm gaming, not when I'm buying games.
It would be nice if more sites adhered to the principles of "progressive enhancement" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressive_enhancement).
@maninatrunk77 Yes, Javascript helps create dynamic websites, but shouldn't be a requirement to use them. Building a site that uses Javascript for a more dynamic and streamlined experience while still working without it is not rocket science.
The forum and screenshot gallery requires little work, though the dynamic loading of the shelf/list and catalogue would be a tad more difficult (on the other hand, said dynamic loading annoys me, so I wouldn't be sad to see it go).
@Manina: When i visit GOG site by computer i agree with you, javascript is optimal, but when i use my smartphone is impossible to have a correct view of the GOG site especially for the fixed bar with "Browse game - Community - Support ecc" because it seems always too big for the "screen".
And what exactly is the point of this? JavaScript helps create dynamic websites and is better supportive of web 2.0. Using Javascript to load games on a list as you scroll the page helps reduce load times and create a faster web experience. Terrible idea.
