Servers provided by Midway were replaced by servers provided by Epic games. End user servers are still running too.
FreedomWings The product key I mentioned earlier is used to activate use of the game, that is a DRM system.
idbeholdME I really don't understand why this is not here already. I have the box version of the game and if I patch that up properly, it's fully functioning with working multiplayer. Absolutely no reason for it to not be on GOG.

M4XXST3IN +1 the Steam version is DRM free but you need to use this custom .exe for any version since the Midway servers shut down

FreedomWings Also note that Steam interfers with connecting to game servers online, so the game must not be launched with Steam in most cases.
FreedomWings The problem with UT3 coming to Gog is that the DRM is a product key, which is used to identify players online. Players can be banned via the product key. Somethings would need to be redone on Epic's servers to remove the need for the product key.
Note the product key is only needed for online play. The same key can be used on other instalations of UT3 for solo or LAN play.
UT3 is not coded for Steam in anyway, UT3 does not require Steam even if purchased from Steam, and UT3 was not on Steam for quite a while. UT3 on Steam is no different than getting UT3 on disc.

Starkrun Still very interested in UT3 if only for LAN or even Galaxy since it has some nice Steam Cross over features now. Even if its just bots and the singleplayer mode. melmovano Even if UT3 is fully tied to Steam for multiplayer, they can still release a "GOG" version without it. I don't care for MP, campaign and botmatches is all I need :-)
urban_shadow_001 A couple of years ago I spoke to Flak (community manager at Epic) and she told me the reason is not on GoG is because of the serials, for some reason the game wouldn't run without it and they would have to invest some time in making it work. At the time they were working on UT4 with the community, but that was before Paragon, and now with Fornite, UT4 doesn't seem to make any progress, let alone UT3. And that has nothing to do with steam.
I think if some one gets permission to work on this maybe one day we'll see it here.

jmpnjimbob I'd love to get this one from GoG! Loading this off of the DVDs along with all of the patches does take time. The multiplayer offline LAN mode with bots is great. Wish more games supported this. Maybe one day soon on GoG!
Starkrun Came in to say this is without a doubt their best game yet. Even without multiplayer the bots do more then a good enough job!

Orgdan I can't sing odes from this game but as being a totally different kind of FPS than the 2004 I love to play it times to times. Installing it from DVDs takes a lot of times as well require to install the things in order. Maybe there is contents I possibly miss while doing that. I would love to see it on GOG.com for the simple installation.

GeniusKeyboard Do not confuse UT3 with "UT2003" "UT3" was originally called "Unreal Tournament 2007" and later renamed to Unreal Tournament 3 to reflect the new engine "Unreal Engine 3" and was released for PC and Playstation 3 in late November 2007 and for Xbox 360 in the summer of 2008.
SkunkShampoo Hmm... Didn't they shut down the list servers for UT3 some years back? UT2k4 is pretty much the same thing but with more maps and vehicles right?
