Gambitman GOG should mark this as complete, The game we remember as "Cataclysm" has been re-released under the title of "Homeworld: Emergence" to avoid copyright faff with Blizzard, but it's still the same game.

GalacticKnight Still the best Homeworld game after the original.
The first game made you *feel* while crossing the deep expanse of space on an epic journey to reclaim a long lost home from an evil empire.
This game takes it further, making you feel *hard* as you go from simple miners to the only thing standing in the way of the most terrifying enemy I've ever seen or heard in an RTS, all while expanding upon the already deep lore with political shenanigans and deeper "character" development.
Homeworld 2 on the other hand couldn't find the plot it was trying to establish and gave up by the end of the game, borrowing gameplay mechanics newly-established in the prior Homeworld: Cataclysm.
Sure, Cataclysm wasn't developed by Relic, but it was written by the same writers who worked together under a shared pseudonym. They didn't work on Homeworld 2, however, as is made obvious.
So yeah, Homeworld: Cataclysm, the best Homeworld sequel we need back and more people need to play.
Ulysses1337 Now this game was both cool and unsettling. I love how multibeam frigates can shred strike craft and swarm heavies while putting on quite a lightshow. The key fact about Beast warheads is enough to give anyone pause.
I insist that the GOG release include hi-fi/lossless music, separately if not ingame. The AIFR-encoded tracks were an absolute butchery of Paul Ruskay’s work. His genius allowed him to set the mood very well despite the snorkel filter.

Aniqiewan Gameplay-wise I enjoyed this a lot more than HW1 and it has great story that includes one of the most memorable enemies in the genre
FRrule oh yes! of all the homeworld games, cataclysm is by far my favorite.
Actually it was the first game that really scared me.
Blindtom Easily my favourite Homeworld game for the aesthetic if nothing else. those low poly, high concept space ships really capture something unique. The multiplayer is wonderfully asymetrical and interesting as well.
Yellow_hat_elminster So much better than Homeworld and frankly I enjoyed it more than HW2. It just has a great multiplayer and the two sides are very fun to play. The campaign is very memorable but not particularly difficult. Still a great game though. I'd buy it in an instant!

IAmSinistar A better sequel to Homeworld than Homeworld 2, in my opinion, though all three games are brilliant and immersive. The infected ships in this game force you to turn all your original strategising around and think of new ways to fight. And as has been said, the voice acting and music are perfect for the game.
DMJC There was no sourcecode release of Cataclysm as it was a 3rd party contractor made game. Only Homeworld 1 got code released.
Mist17 sheewa I can run my old copy using NT compatibility mode and then using the Opengl renderer. It's not perfect but it works

LiamRiordan For the love of God, let there be a GoG version of this game! It's very rare in my area for a 'good' retail copy. Either damaged or grubby as hell. Please see if you can get a license from Gearbox.

Varwulf Definitely my least favorite of the Homeworld franchise but it is so difficult to ignore how much fun I had with this one and it's rather unique storyline. Please bring Homeworld Cataclysm to GOG :)

padawanmage One of the few games that actually scared the crap out of me. Given how it was only ships and dialogue, that's saying a lot. One factor was the creepy music! To this day, it still sends shivers down my spine.

Gizmojunk The consideration with Homeworld and Homeworld:Cataclysm, is that the engine source code was released some time ago. This is bad in the sense that multiplayer hacks could be a problem... but it's good in that GoG would be able to modify their edition. Homeworld & Homeworld:Cataclysm are two of the best RTS space games ever made; we need them on GoG, for they certainly are incredibly good old games.
raptor117 Not many games can stir emotions by voice acting alone. The story in Cataclysm is presented only by disembodied voices and some pictures/avatars representing the actors but the voices are enough to carry the game on itself to make me care to kill the Beast. Please let be it on GoG.

Geraldine Yes this game and the others in the series really need a home here, this one though was my favourite, with the original a close second. HW2 was ok but the earlier 2 first games just had something special about them.
Dumorimasoddaa Another brilliant game and sadly showing it's age with it being unplayable on newer operating systems, this can be fixed by manually installing the latest patch but even that takes alot of faffing about. Could really do with the GOG treatment.
