According to the GOG Doom 3 store page, the game now includes both the BFG Edition *AND* the original version (including Resurrection of Evil). I've no idea when this was added (and I've not tested it yet), but just mentioning in case people are unaware.

That would be pretty handy, since the engine got ported to linux and extracting game content from steam is horrible.

I'd have no interest in the BFG edition, it's a shocking step down from the standard Doom 3.

The BFG Edition is clearly the inferior version of the game. Locked FOV, no mod support etc.
