Option to download and save installers for later use. completed
Did they remove this? I can remember the option but cant seem to find it anymore :/
For test I download Double Dragon Trilogy.
I have separate folders for "download games" and "download extras".
First I download the game and it create a folder in "download games", but when it complete GOG Galaxy move it to "download extras". It's not to move the file, but fine.
Then I installed the game. The GOG Galaxy began to download and not created a folder in "download games" and not is download in "download extras". I don't know where it is saving the file. After download again the game was installed.
I have a low Internet connection and any download bigger then 1 GB it's a pain for days or weeks (Witcher 3 was weeks).
The folders configuration is in a mess this way. I want to have installers separated from extras.
Ans this option was totally useless.
As currently implemented Galaxy doesn't seem to recognise these installers. I can download the installer but then clicking "Install" in Galaxy starts a whole new download rather than using the existing local installer.
Yes it's implemented but you can now 'install' the game (the main setting) which would download it AND then download it in EXTRAS. This means you're downloading the game twice every time.
Unfortunately it's not implemented properly. The GOG Downloader would recognize if a file alraady had been downloaded.
GOG Galaxy is blindly downloading any file I click, even if it had been downloaded before and is identical.
Together with the fact that the GOG Downloader links have been hidden on the Website, keeping installer files up-to-date has recently become MUCH more painful than it was before :(
>Should be much more prominent. Actually, should be in the right-click menu on the library page.
Most of the games I purchased from GOG, I purchased precisely because I have the capability to save them locally.<
I very much agree with this. The main reason I got Galaxy is to keep my installers and extras up to date, not so much the installed games. Although that's important too of course.
> already implemented but hidden in "download extras" menu.

This should be an option added to the settings, under the folder section, a check box for keeping all installers.
Nice to know where this is now, but shouldn't this be in the main Setting? There is already options where to download it at. Make it a check box for the installer to be a permanent download in the same area.
already implemented but hidden in "download extras" -menu.
