Add non GOG games completed
Guys, just add a random game from the database which doesn't have any informations (such as "Unreal PT"). Then you just have to link the executable of your game, and after that you can "Edit" the Tile, Background, Icon, Title, etc.
for those complaining that a game isn't in the database, GOG uses IGDB as their source.
If you can't find your game in the list, check if it's on IGDB's website.
If it's definitely not on IGDB (some games have different names in the database), you can add it and in a while (I'd wait a day at least), you'll be able to see it in GOG.
I would not call this "completed". Yes, you can add games to your library manually, but (and this is a big but) if the game you want to add is not in the database...well you're SOL.
Literally been asking for years and this wish is NOT completed.
Still not usable for games that aren't part of GOG Galaxy's database. New games which just released and games from publisher stores are often not found when I try to add them manually. Even feedback using the form inside GOG Galaxy doesn't make a difference. The only possible workaround to add a different game and change the game's detail page to the real game is not a desirable solution.
In Galaxy, in your "all games" view, you will see a "+" symbol at the top of the screen. Just to the right of the "filter" item.
You can use this to "add game manually." And you can built your entire Galaxy entry once it's added.
Oh, and I also used this same technique to create a Galaxy link for Falcon 4.0, which does not get an automatic link (despite being purchased through GOG) in Galaxy.
Folks, this CAN be done. It's just not easy to see how it's done.
I have a copy of "Star Trek - Generations" on my local machine. It's designed to run in a VM running Win95. This is absolutely not something available on GOG.
Do a search for that game in "Galaxy." (It DOES SHOW UP, so someone else before me already did so, adding cover art and the like.) Add that to your library. Then select the executable for the game, and voila! It's in "Galaxy."
I did something similar a while back with "F/A-18E Super Hornet." I actually got that through GOG, but GOG Galaxy won't install it. The game won't run without some "tweaks" that GOG's auto-installer apparently can't handle just yet. So, I created a custom launcher setup... using cover art downloaded from MobyGames... and yes, I can run this game without Galaxy.
It's not as "transparent" as you might like, but it DOES WORK.
Gog please truly add this. I really wish I could truly add a custom game, not just one in your database.
Marked but not added, such lame...
Funny how it is marked as completed even though it is not.
Although this "whish is completed" or at least marked as completed, it is not. The wish is: "I want to add games that ar not in the GOG Database." Just add some Executable.
I think gog galaxy needs the feature to be able to add games that aren't in there registered database.I mainly have a few games that I wish i could add into gog but cant.
"Add a Non-Steam game" Galaxy 2.0 counter part is missing... Which is a no go at the moment, i better add all executable even from Ubisoft, etc. to Steam than using Galaxy 2.0 as it is not capable of doing so.
Galaxy 2.0 doesn't let me (easily, there seems to be a workaround) add the official installation of Warzone 2100.
Basically, I want what Steam can do with "Add a Non-Steam game"
GOG Galaxy 2.0 already does this ...
Go to the gear at the top-left, go to "Add games & friends" and click "Add game manually". From there you can search for any game in the database that they're pulling from, which includes most releases, though not all, as some very small games aren't included. Once you've selected it, click "Mark As Owned" and then you can link an executable (sadly BAT files don't work).
To add custom art, right click on the game and click Edit, then go to the Media tab and you can add in everything to make it look pretty.
Just gave the 2.0 Galaxy a go. And wow, it's wonderful!
But yeah, the lack of manually adding games, and lack of plugins still from the community area (itch.io and twitch being the two biggest misses) means that not all of my games are in here.
I can guess that assets could be the problem, one of the reasons this looks better than Playnite is that the assets are obviously well chosen and curated, not sure where they are all coming from but they look fantastic compared to what Playnite provides (which is pulling from IGDB, but allows you to add your own assets should those be not what you want).
However, I'd rather an uglier UI that is fully functional, than a beautiful one that isn't. So for now...I'll be sticking with Playnite. Please give me what I need to switch! :)
Maybe it´s not good to handle.
I will create my own GameList and add my own Games from HDD/SSD. Maybe with a "scan" option to track my non Client/Launcher/Service Games.
Also i will be add multiple Copies of same games.
E.G. have Diablo2 +Diablo2 Midial XL +Diablo2 Path of Diablo as extra games. GoG 2.0 wont add this. Only Diablo2 orig (only track this as the same game). -.-
GOG Galaxy 2.0 will do this
+1 on this. The option to add games manually is nice in theory, but as implemented you're out of luck if your title isn't recognised in the list GOG provide. Please, add the option to add games FULLY manually, so that mods like Vampire: Prelude can be added!
I believe this is added in Galaxy 2.0 now. I've added my Dolphin Wii/GC games to my library
Personally, I just really want to add my non GOG games to my library. It's just better for ease of use.
One thing that got me hyped for GOG Galaxy 2 was the idea of being able to launch Escape From Tarkov, Star Citizen and DCS World all from the same client
Galaxy 2.0 has an awesome interface that I'd love to use, but the fact it's still missing something this simple, when I wasn't even in the first wave of early testers, is absurd. G2.0 is an awesome-looking launcher that's sitting completely dormant on my hard drive because it can't handle something as simple as launching my modded DOOM, Fallout, etc. installs
+1 Please add this feature.
I've mentioned this in the feedback form for Galaxy 2.0.
There are a lot of games from Humble Bundle that can use this.
I agree, considering I've amassed a collection of physical games for some time (most of which I can't redeem on other platforms like Steam). This is a much needed feature if Galaxy 2.0 is going to compile your non-GOG libraries.
we should recommend this feature to the devs via the feedback/issue feature in Galaxy 2.0, it might get more priority that way
clock the time for custom games to please
First of all I apologize for my English, since it is not my native language. GOG has become a platform to unify all our games that are worth using with so many launchers. Unfortunately there are not all the platforms in GOG to unify them, for example battle.net, Bethesda, Twitch, Humble Bundle ... That's why I think it is essential that you can add your games manually. Another of the features that are missing in my opinion is some more personalization such as putting a background in our general library and finally being able to search for games in general since we can only see those that are being played recently by other players. In my opinion, if they implement these features, GOG will become an indispensable tool for many users. I hope I have been clear with my English, thanks for reading.
Kind of shocked this wasn't present on day one. It's all very well adding everything from most third party launchers (Twitch says hi), but it's baffling that you can't just select an executable to add.
Frankly this is an essential feature. Galaxy 2.0 is supposed to be the one-stop shop, and with so many external integrations available, this basic feature should not have been overlooked. Even Steam client allows this. Kindly add this feature as soon as possible so Galaxy 2.0 can be closer to attaining its full potential.
I have several games that aren't started from a launcher that I'd love to be able to add to Galaxy 2.0. Old DOOM games for several, and many other older dos games. Another thing I'd really like to see is the ability to customize the launch parameters for some games. Bethesda games, for example have a script extended that can be used with the game. For these to work though, the game must be launched from that EXE. Please allow custom steam URLs so I can launch these games.
I just got the closed beta invite. Installed GOG Galaxy 2 and rushed to add Steam and Uplay games. But I didn't find any feature to add standalone games. I am completely disappointed with GOG Galaxy 2. I think I'll have to stick with PlayNite which is open source and support what I need right now (games from launchers, standalone and even emulators...).
Bump, I have a few standalone, non-steam, non-gog, non-ubi games that I'd like to see in my library.
Don't hype it until it's done! I'll uninstall and check back in a year.
Like what I see from GoG Galaxy 2.0, but this is a weird missing feature. I have enough games that aren't connected to a storefront like Steam, including some MMOs.
Please add this to GOG 2.0. I don't understand why it isn't a feature yet.
needs option to add non-platform specific games so we can have one launcher in one place. GOG2.0 does not detect manual games =/
you advertised this app like it was going to be a go to launcher to launch all your games from one platform instead of needing multiple launchers. This was supposed to bring everything into one place. This program is just another storefront otherwise.
I'm trying to get OpenMW to be imported into GOG Galaxy, asked everywhere I could think of but I got no response so far...
I really want to use GOG as my go-to.... but can't launch a lot of my games through it :(
Don't let your dreams be dreams!
Need this.
Just use Lutris...
I still have the disks and manuals from many old games here along with some that haven't come to GOG. I'd probably move most of my support from Steam (I hate their software) to GOG if I could hook these up to the launcher, preferably with WINE/DosBox/etc. configuration assistance.
Until this becomes a features, can't make Galaxy my go-to launcher.
please!!!!
+1. This would be awesome to organize my entire PC library with the tags system.
Surprised this isn't a feature yet
