Experience this quirky cult classic with Edna & Harvey anew, but better than ever before – or discover this gem for the first time!<
h4>Time to go crazy!
When Edna wakes up, she has no memories of her past, or why she finds herself in the padded cell of a sanatorium. Though she hasn't the slightest idea how she ended up in a cell, one thing is certain: She wants to get out of there!
After all, she feels positively sane – and her talking plush bunny Harvey absolutely agrees.
Together they try to make their escape and meet the weirdest inmates – from a man in a bee costume to the pseudo-siamese twins Hoti and Moti. But Dr. Marcel, the head of the sanatorium, does everything in his power to stop Edna from leaving. What is his endgame? And why has her memory been wiped? Bit by bit, Edna remembers the time before the sanatorium...

More of a 3.5 than a 4. Resorted to use of the walkthru several times as some actions just were not intuitive. I didn't enjoy this one as much as I seemed to be stuck frequently. I found the asylum time somewhat tediuous. You had plenty of actions to figure out and a lot of inventory so it was difficult. I liked the 2d game better than this one.
I did really enjoy this game! It has a lot of character to it, some really good humor, and such a creative cast; all in all, somehow it found a line halfway between feeling grounded and being a rediculous cartoon. The passion shows all throughout, and the style and setting and music just all connect together so well with me.
This is definitely on the difficult side for a modern adventure game! It isn't possible to screw yourself over and lose progress, but over the middle third of the game you'd need to be a fully methodical master of patience to get through it on your own. That section harkens back a lot to Sam and Max hit the road, where you can find yourself missing something that turns out to actually be on the first few screens of the game. Other parts of the game run plenty hard too (escaping the first screen is a task for the patient!), but that middle section is the part where I didn't enjoy the difficulty.
I actually don't have anything to say about the anniversary art sadly! I turned it on and off in a couple places, and it was definitely pretty, clear, and well-done, but I kinda just enjoyed the mood and low-budget aesthetic of the older stuff. Maybe the newer stuff might've helped with the two exits I missed though!
All in all, I think this is a solid choice if you're after kinda a cult-classic type game with a lot of character, and you enjoy a higher dose of adventure game difficulty!
I cannot stress how much the game make me crack a laugh from beginning to end, more than any other adventure game before and gave me some heartbreaking sad moments. A must play specially now that Daedelic hardly will develop a good adventure game again.
Even with a few rough spots, such as certain puzzles and choppy animation; this a classic and memorable "modern"Point and click adventure
Be it the charming writing and characters, interresting puzzles and the ability of using and combining everything , it's one of the best of it's kind
Do you like the classic SCUMMVM games like Monkey Island, Sam & Max or Indiana Jones? Than this is a must play for you. I´d took a chance when this was on an offer and never got disappointed for a second. The puzzles aren´t the toughest, ensuring a nice continuous gameplay and the humor is almost as dark as Sam & Max. The only real downside is the length of the game, but then again: for this price I can´t really complain. Looking forward to the next game in the series, totally loving it!
