Do you really expect people to pay £55 pre order for a game that it not playable until May next year ?

I will not be paying £55 for it even on release.

£55 for a downloadable game, this is getting crazy.

Came here to say the same. This is completely ridiculous, just like a lot of prices on GOG these days.

I actually remember how back in the day the excuse for games being pricey was the cost of physical distribution: the media itself, the store's profit, etc. Funny how everybody "forgot" about it and started charging even more...
yep... sometimes i still pay for games those stupid prizes but i do now no more for a while because you mostly get broken games and yeah no physical stuff means way cheaper like 30 euro's per game but not from pc 50 euro's to console price 60 euro's....
Personally I don't like the new look of the UI. I loved the artwork of the UI in Wasteland 2. $60 is fine, and pre-ordering would be fine if GOG had a refund policy for pre-orders.

£55 and it's Win 8 and 10 only no Win 7. Guess that's me out then.

"Only" misplaced: MacOS, Linux supported.

Yes, just after InXile were bought by Microsoft, they decide to not support Windows 7. Not suspicious at all. They support everything else, Mac, Linux, PS4, Xbox, Win 8, Win 10, just not 7. Hmmm....

Also, £55 is just greedy.

It's ridiculously greedy and possibly also cryptofascist, especially considering that it'll most likely end up similar to WL2 (i.e. trash mobs, stupid locked loot boxes everywhere, etc.).

They're a bunch of total, total, complete and utter... well I don't know what they are, but they are them. And total and utter ones at that.
not support Windows 7...
I'm out.
1800 rubles for low-quality Unity-based game? From studio that failed twice already? No, thanks.

Up to now, all InXile game have been a bit crappy.

Can't see how this will not be crappy too.
Taking inflation into account $60 USD is a fair price for a game these days.. As long as it offers 20+ hours of enjoyment for me. That's a personal standard. But I don't do pre-orders or day 1 DLC or any of that garbage... It takes a lot to get me to pre-order something (substantial discount, or included DLC for free or something).

Or if its just a franchise/studio I believe in supporting based on track record.. (Starpoint Gemini for example)

That being said, based on what info I can find on the developer and release track record, I would not pre-order this game or pay launch MSRP for it. Because it will likely be delivered bug-riddled and half working as intended.

Sadly people like us are in the minority. So developers will never get the message and they will continue putting out garbage releases that require day-1 patches, day 1 DLC, etc. because sheep continue to shell out money.

Also the feedback on Wasteland 1 Remastered has not left me feeling very confident, both about the Developer and their passion/attention to detail. That release looks like a no effort bottom-of-the-barrel cashgrab banking on nostalgia.

I am enjoying Wasteland 2 Director's Cut so far, but its not without its frustrations. I will most likely purchase Wasteland 3 in the future: howver it will likely be on a deep discount sale for $25 w/any DLC or extra content included and most of the bugs ironed out.

I don't know what their full plans are for 3, but I hope this time around it includes some kind of user-created content mechanism, like the ability to build your own Story/Campaign using the existing rules / assets, create items, etc. That's one thing I wish Wasteland 2 had. I would love to be able to take this game engine and craft some adventures / stories within it. Similar to Shadowrun (but with a far easier to use editor)

$60 a fair price?

Depends on what terms.

Is it bug free?
It is a good game by any chance?
Do they slap on top expensive DLC that are stripped out of the game as an excuse to get additional money?
How you account for 20 hours of gameplay worth it?

This without mentioning late "Enhanced Edition", not always provided as free update.
20 hours is an arbitrary number I came up with out of personal preference.

Most games that I like, I tend to play a lot more than 20 hours anyway.. I'm nearly up to 40 hours on Wasteland 2 which is around what most people would expect out of an RPG anyway. For a game like Wasteland, 20 hours and a good storry and relatively non-buggy experience with some replayability factor is a fair deal imho.

It's a far cry better than paying $60 for a shooter that lasts 8 hours if you're lucky.

The absolute best deal I got out of a $25 purchase was early access on DiRT Rally. I have ~500 hours on that.. My most recent expensive purchase was Ace Combat 7 at $90 all-in on launch day. I got access to all future DLC etc and have over 100 hours on that game, and will still play it at least another 30 hours down the road..

I don't remember what I paid for the ShadowRun games, but I got about 25-ish hours out of those and I can guess it was probably around the price I paid for Wasteland 2.

Value is a subjective thing, but just going by the math compared to prices through the 90's and early 2000's $60 is still a fair purchase point IF the game is decent and not riddled with bugs or paywalled content

No way. I will first wait to see if it is going to be boring and uninspired as the previous one.
