Okay - I cannot get either game to create a character. In Savage Empire, the game tells me I need to run the install program first. In Martian Dreams, I can't even access the Character Creation menu. Hitting return does nothing.

I have a AMD 64 X2 Dual Core processor and an Nivida 9500 video card and run the current version of Windows Vista, if that information is needed. I know of at least one person on twitter that is having this same issue. Any ideas?

There seems to be a issue with the builds right now, the GOG team said there working on it and should have a fix up shortly

I'm just waiting to see what they have to say at 7, then hitting the mattress. Been up all night heh

Hopefully by the time I awake, it'll all be fixed.

Same here, I been waiting for a long time for these games to get re-released. But on the plus side my Ultima collection is finally finished.(I don't count nor really want to buy IX at all)

I wanted to play Martian Dreams so bad when I was younger. Alas, I didn't have a computer at the time. Now I get to play it! For free even... Funny that the pixelated graphics are common in many new games now, heh.

I know right. As for me I always wanted both Worlds of Ultima games but non of the shops here carried them at all. So I missed out.
We fixed the issue. Please re-download both games.

I always like the steampunk vibe that Martian Dreams had. You know, before steampunk was the 'in' thing....

Or you could just use D-fend reloaded::

http://dfendreloaded.sourceforge.net/

Updated to version 1.3.0
Just downloaded and installed Savage Empire on Windows 7 x64. When the game starts, all I get is a DOS cursor. Nothing happens whatsoever.

You need to run it as an administrator.

Did you get your game working?
OH MY GOD!

I couldn't believe it when I got the email! Two of my favourite Ultima RPG's and two of the most original RPG's released in this AD&D world - for FREE!

I couldn't believe my eyes!

Thanks GOG! I will make a donation to charity!
