Yeah I stick up for their rights, to deny them their rights would make me a hypocrite, are you a hypocrite? We already established that you are. But I also have the right not to buy their products if I don't like their service or feel like I am being treated poorly. I don't like Ubitsoft's service or how they treat their customers, and guess what, I haven't bought a game from them in years, I also haven't played any of their games in years as well because I don't steal their games.

Buying gas and buying a game are 2 different things. Buying Gas is a necessity for many people including me, but buying games is not a necessity. Yes, I am basically being held hostage to the oil companies when it comes to gas prices, and the only thing I can really do is lessen my gas consumption. But with gaming, I am not held hostage, I can choose not to buy their games, which I do with Ubisoft. I can choose to find other ways to to get around and not use gas, but that is not practical for me, choosing not to buy games that is very pratical.

You are half right, Buying game is a luxury just like yachts or cigarettes so you can expect to go though some hassles if you want to play.

However, again with the gas: How pious would you be about paying $6 a gallon if you knew you could get all the free gas you wanted by climbing an unguarded chain link fence?

PS: I read an interesting article that augured that the way ITunes and ringtones beat Napster and the pirates was by making it so easy and convenient to get the exact song you wanted that it was easier to pay them then to steal it. Ubisoft has apparently not read that article either

There is a difference between calling out hypocrisy and moral judgements, to personal attacks.

The fact is, you had no leg to stand on to justify being a software pirate. You know that you are in the wrong, and are upset that someone called you out on it, and that is the only reason why you are leaving this thread.

I will say this though, if you truely did buy the Witcher 2, then I apologize for that remark. But I will not apologize for calling out your hypocrisy and lack of moral judgement when it comes to theft.

And that is why almost everyone I have ever come in contact with either had kazza, limewire, bittorent, etc and ask me(cause i'm very nerdish) when one of the sites go down "where can I download music?" and I laugh and "say try amazon."

i don't like ubisoft because of the crappy quality of their games, i could care less about drm. so even if i could download them illegally, i never would.

I got to admit I like the Prince of Persia games. The first 4 had no DRM so I bought those games, but the new PoP Forgotten Sands has their new DRM system which I disagree with, so I haven't bought it or played the game at all. And I really want to play the new PoP game, but I'll have to wait till they patch out the DRM, or if someone gifts me a legit copy of the game as a gift.

Heh. I'm ending up buying two versions of this game: The boxed Premium Edition, just because it's the most awesome standard release in 20 years, and is filled with goodies. And I'm also buying the GoG version, because that one will be the simplest to install. In fact, I may never even open my boxed edition.

So yeah, I haven't even played the game yet. My boxed edition is sitting right here taunting me, while I wait for my next paycheck so I can buy the GoG version with integrated patch.

So I'll have $100 into this game when it's all said and done. But by all accounts, it will be worth it!

So back to the OP: Thank you CDPR for not punishing your customers. A few of us will will respond with double-purchases.

As someone else said, we are we are at because of the pirating. The problem is that it isn't doing what it was intended to do. The pirating continues and the legitimate buyers are having to deal with the BS of DRM. You want to try a game? Look for a Demo. It looks as if one of the posters is part of the problem and the reason the rest of us who buy our games, have to deal with the BS. In regards to the above Poster ( Giles ), I did the same thing with Fallout : New Vegas, bought the Collector's Edition for the PS3 then turned around and bought the standard Edition to play. The CE is in the closet still sealed.

Everybody is a potential criminal. What pushes people to actually commit a crime varies wildly, but I suspect being treated like a criminal anyway is reasonably high on that list.
