mysticd: I personally have no problems with the QTE's, which you can turn off, I just don't see how this was designed for a console.
Each their own though.

BlazeKING: Well look at the UI differences between TW1 and TW2, thats a dead giveaway

CDPR, can I has a PC UI DLC plz?
wont happen, their live stream confirmed that they want all versions to be exactally the same to reduce whining form all sides. (except pc)

Stevezen: ....and yet again the PS3 gets shafted, thanks guys.
or they still need to get authorization from sony.
Could we have one thread without pointless arguing? There are already like 500 of those, and it's irritating that people have to wade through self-righteous blather on both sides to actually find anything relevant to the thread topic.

Senteria: So TW2 comes to xbox360. Well that came as no surprise. However I don't understand people complaining. You got a pc, you got the game, you enjoyed it. Now they'll bring it to the xbox360 and make even more money. This will allow the company to grow, and improve TW2 and create TW3 and make it even better or release it faster.
the problem is that im playing a obvious console game on my pc which i was promised a PC game.

and the fact thney make more money is a BAD thing.
1) call of duty syndrome will kick in.

2) it will probably give them their taste for blood (money) and they will look to making the game a Console experience maybe to the extent of not even giving us a version.

cloud8521: listen, the UI is probably about you know one of the BIGGEST PARTS OF THIS GAME. almost everything you do is part of the UI. its a horrible ui, its a limiting UI and its got console written all over it.
Well Ultima XII is probably one of my favorite RPG ever and yet IMHO the UI is 200% pure concentrated crap (I could rage for hours about the inventory system) same goes for System Shock which have a pretty lousy UI... heck a lot of "good old games" classics have an awful UI and yet they are/were PC exclusive.

I do agree that Witcher 2 UI is "lacking" it's often annoying and requires way too much click to do simple things but I disagree that it's the most important part of the game.

Skystrider: XBox 360 version of the Witcher 2 has been all but confirmed:
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-06-02-witcher-2-on-xbox-360-in-november

Great news not only for console owners, but certainly also for CDP (who now gets to sell even more copies), and thus great even for us PC folk, since it means the developers get more resources for even better games and services in the future (if better than Witcher 2 is even possible!)

I don't think this is the big thing that will be announced today though. Still, great news all the same. :)
I can't believe some people can be this naive. If TW2 sells better on consles (360 in this case) expect TW3 to be a console port.
They sold over 400 thousand copies for the PC only in a week. Don't worry, they won't abandon us. Worst thing that can happen is them neglecting the PC version.

No chance it will sell better on xbox. As long as PC is leading platform i am fine.

I doubt it...we're doing a good job finding the bugs for them so they can have a nice clean xbox version :)

no offence, but neglecting us is worse then abandoning us.

that would just make us cash cows. if they abandon us then we wont be fuleing the fire of neglect.

also im not saying that consoles are bad. i love consoles, but from a company that has PC roots and that i have had lots of trust in. its a letdown that they dont have PC centric UI in place.

as much as i love them i feel let down.i will still buy the game, but i will still voice my option that it should be fixed.
I hear they confirmed that the UI was designed with consoles as a priority. This was in direct contrast to waht they claimed back in November/December.

Edit: I bought the game here from Gog to support them for their efforts on Witcher 1 and doing Witcher 2. I paid a higher rate then I could have at other places. But I felt that they desrved the money for their support in making PC games.

Now to have it confirmed that they designed it for the console from the start and I as a PC user had to deal with a substantard UI means I feel betrayed by them. I would much rather of had them admit up front their true intentions and designs. I would most likley have bought the game but from some other place for a cheaper price. This is my beef on it.

If you intend to use the same UI for both platforms, the console will inevitably take preference, meaning PC users get stiffed. You'll need 2 completely different designs to make this properly. It's a choice of money vs. art. They chose money.

i would have said money vs Fans, or something like that

but i think they misguided themselves after hearing their live speech, sounded like they did it because they felt that they should not separate the PC and the consoles. they wanted them the same, dont know why but i feel it was not the best move.

they could have made the PC version then worked on making the console UI using the money they got from us. the half year they got to port the game over would give them plenty of time to make the UI

So, I assume that a Darnifed UI is coming for TW2, then? Hmm?

Game design is an art. Their art suffered due to an UI intended for both platforms, which isn't doable IMHO - at least not for this kind of game. Bottom line is; they know as well as we do what a proper interface should be. They did not make one this time.
