Hi.

I'm on chapter II trying to end the Memory of a blade quest. However, I can't seem to find Zoltan anymore. The journal points me towards the Hairy Bear but he is nowhere in sight when I get there. I've checked the streets and at Vivaldi's place but he seems to have vanished.

I've tried to search for a solution but it seems that this is not a common problem..?

I haven't seen Zoltan disappear altogether. He wanders the Temple Quarter during the day, so you may have to do a lot of running around to catch up with him.

Try to meditate untill 8 or 9 AM and then check the street going from the market to Raymond's house.

I meditated and did another quest and by a coincidence I was at vivaldi's when he bothered to show up there. I'd still chalk that up to a serious bug though, since the quest specifically told me to find him at the inn.

No, that's not serious. This game does not hold your hand that way. You have to look for people, and not rely on every in-game direction.

Serious would be if Zoltan barricaded himself in the slum warehouse.

The quest tracking isn't always accurate when you need to turn in a quest at a NPC that wanders or is only available during certain times during the day. It only indicates one location to go to, regardless of where the actual NPC is.

Yeah I find the marker to be more of a "well he like to hang out around here, but he could be wherever" than a direct pointer to a wandering NPC at all times.

Zoltan isn't in one spot. He wanders around the city all the time in the daylight, so you have to run around town until you happen to bump into him.

Zoltan is a sneaky one eh.
Evenings he's usually in the hairy bear
During the day he strolls around in the streets.
I found him mainly walking the path from the hospital to wards the non-human region.
Sometimes you can find him in vivaldi's house or the blacksmith or near the antique seller.

Sorry, don't agree with you. Maybe serious bug is the wrong name for it but it sure is bad design. Up to this point every NPC or item have been where the quest marker has suggested it should be. There has not even been a hint suggesting that a quest marker is merely a suggestion and not an absolute truth like in almost every other RPG.
