I have a problem when I go to run Neverwinter Nights. When I go to the character creation screen, my character is silver. If I use a premade character, they are silver when the game starts and so is every other character. I've downloaded and installed the 1.69 patch update, which is normally what fixes it, and it hasn't worked. I'm using Windows Vista and somehow managed to fix it a year ago, but had to reformat my computer and I'm at a loss at what to do.

I know this is not much help but this does sound like a graphics card issue not an OS issue. I run Win7 and everything works just fine (on my laptop i have to play with reflecting water off).

I agree with Orlim that the most likely issue is the graphics card, getting the latest drivers may help.

There are also numerous issues with OpenGL and Vista+, you could also try turning off Aero (setting your display to Basic or Classic), or changing the colour depth.
