It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

PenutBrittle: It's still the exact same thing, except the videos are in a vertical line instead of a four column grid. Which I find works better, because Youtube had a strange habit of grouping the videos in bizarre ways (why is a four month old video in the same line as two recent videos, and underneath a two week old video?). Maybe if the old system had functioned better I'd be more nostalgic, but it never worked for me. I ended up having to use RSS feeds to make sense of it.

Just log onto Youtube, scroll down until you see something you've already watched and work your way up. Just like Twitter and Facebook and Google+ and nearly every Web 2.0 social media site out there.
it doesn't work the same way. before you get each subscription separately. not everything together. now. everything is together and you cannot remove watched videos anymore.
a month before the change the system got indeed broken. i saw same videos a couple time. but before that it worked good. it wasn't perfect. current left column with your subscription is useful. but back then i did not need to scroll for anything.
main page, i see all the videos, could remove them and older unwatched would appear. now. there is no choice but going really to each subscriber page to see what they uploaded. I got used to it of course but still previous system was better. smaller icons, more per page, faster access to everything.

I don't get it. You said you didn't want to click through three different tabs to see each subscription, but you also don't want to see all of them at once in one feed. That doesn't make any sense.

Also, this isn't directed at you, but what's up with the massive hatred towards scrolling? It's not like scroll wheels are a limited resource. It's literally a tiny movement of your middle finger.

I just noticed that Google is totally different in XP than it is in Win7. Same browser but totally different looking page. Very odd. By the looks of the XP version they're trying to force people to use Win7.

I want to see them all at once. i could do that in the past now i can't.

Before every new video was on front page, ordered by uploader. easy to see, easy to click, easy to remove.
now.
I see only six videos on a page. they are all grouped together, videos of uploader of which i watch every single one, and of uploaders who produce a lot of videos but i watch only few. Confusing. requires scrolling and then clicking more videos. and then scrolling again through tens of videos. it is annoying, it does not provide me with information who uploaded what but forces to make me read every single video uploaded.

and i don't have hatred towards scrolling. it is just annoying. just don't use Youtube for 3 days and see how useless the main page will be.
This "new" layout reminds me of the old layout from last year where videos were shown in order of uploads rather than by channel/subscription updates.

I actually prefer the new layout. Obviously though, I click the "Show Uploads Only" box.
Ok, the problem for me is you can pin up to 10 subscription but only 5 show up on the home page. But they're in alphabetical order and you can't put them into a custom order. So I can only ever pin 5 of my subscriptions because one of my main favorites starts with a z and if I put on anymore he'll be taken off the home page.

I think this is just a personal preference thing. Personally, I found the old layout useless and disorganized.

For example, going back to the old one I have (in order)
four videos from uploader A (ranging from 1 day to 4 weeks ago)
one video from uploader B (2 days ago)
four videos from uploader C (ranging from 4 days to 4 weeks ago)
three videos from uploader C again (between 1 week and 4 months ago, with one duplicate)
two videos from uploader A (1 week ago)
one from B (two days ago)
three from C
one from A
and etc.

I don't care that I can see eight thumbnails at a time instead of six, it's a completely illogical set-up.

I'm a big fan of Twitter, and I like the features of Google+, which are obviously big influences on the design, so maybe I'm just more used to it. But maybe give it a try? Ugly or no, scrolling or no, at least the videos are in a sensible order. That was my biggest issue with the old layout. I suppose your mileage may vary.
I hate the new layout. Not just because it did nothing but move things around and change the colours, that I can live with on its own. It's the fact that uploads from my subscribers are no longer grouped in rows according to uploader, but are now in a single column. I used to be able to see every new upload on any given day with a glance at the front page, but now I have to scroll through the list to see them all.

I know, I know, white people problems and all that. Still, if the only somewhat significant change sucks ass, than it's probably safe to say that the new layout is a piece of shit.

that's been happening only in september october. before that you had only one section per uploader and videos were in order. and when you deleted older unwatched videos would show up. preparing for the change they fucked it up (pardon my swearing)
The /home fix no longer works. Now I've got loads of videos on my homepage that I've watched or are just not interested in, and I can't fucking remove them!
I really dislike the fact that i can't remove any of the recommended videos. It is not good for my privacy. Sometime i let my brother use my PC.
Someone just told me of this fix. Add /index_ajax to the homepage URL, like so:

http://www.youtube.com/index_ajax

Working for me in Firefox. There is a dismissible "Authorization Error" warning, but it all seems functional.

I wonder how long before they remove this too.
Does anyone know how to block people now?

I keep getting friend invites from a bunch of spammy accounts, and I used to block them, but I can't find out how to do this.
And now the index_ajax thing has stopped working too. This is ridiculous.
Changes suck some times
