As many of you know, CCP and White Wolf (the creator of World Of Darkness table top game) are working together for many years to create this great game and bring it to our PCs as a MMO.
Everyone that has played Vampire : The Masquarade - Bloodlines , knows how immerse is the lore and the gameplay (well except for that last part with the Chinese Gang...).

The original table top games were created at the early 90's (even before Interview With A Vampire was released, no talk about Blade and ESPECIALLY Twilight) and it deals with Vampires. Then they added more stuff like Werewolves, Mages, Vampire Hunters etc.

This game is supposed to be something totally different from your common MMO RPG. It will have a main plot, but politics will play a huge role in the plot too (1st great point) .
Well to keep this first post away from the "tl;dr" state here's a link :

http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/62202/Vampire-The-Masquerade-MMO-Details-Emerge

and here's some concept art :

So they're still in pre-production stage creating the world, but i guess there are some burn-outs like me that want to help those guys and make things speed up, so it GETS finally released!

Now Let's wish they see this thread and kickstart it (not quite but you get what i'm trying to say there...).

I really hope they innovate, and do not make another WoW killer.

...which pretty clearly shows the game itself probably isn't the main thing.
So, you imply that, because they posted this concept art to give us a taste of the art direction, it can't have a deep gameplay and story. Am i right? :p

...or their main goal is not the gameplay?
(by the way, the art along with the sound, visuals , story and gameplay make the game. You might want to correct that)

The concept of th WOD is massively different. For starters, combat isn't one of the main foci of the RPG. I think this could become the "Twillight" of MMORPG, considering the crowd that plays WOD games.

Well, hopefully this will leave most of the Twilight fans out...

They are aware the WoD is an adult setting and the devs are going to not shy away from gore, blood and nudity. However such will have a reason and not adult content for the sake of adult content.

although i don't think i understood exactly what do you mean by " "Twilight" of MMORPG"

What I am implying is that if the only thing they believe is worth showing are some goth chicks, they're probably going the "style over substance" route.

Well they also have some in-game footage of a small map in one of the cities. But as i said, the game is in pre-production so they don't have much to show us yet.
I guess if they posted some lore or explained many stuff of how the gameplay works, that would be a shot in the foot, wouldn't it? (competitors might grab some of their ideas to use on their games, etc).

Oh one more thing. I'm sorry i forgot. If you look at this video :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ch2vB1ZatPI

at many points on the video they have concept art which is not all "fashion for ladies".
it has pictures of cities, and vampires.
But, i have to admit. The reason i posted the link with the clothes , was to get some chicks interested. You can blame me for that, yes.

I have been waiting patiently for more news about this forever, I loved playing VTM growing up and the games were okay for the PC. I think Bloodlines if they had addressed the technical stuff would have gone over big (I still replay it). I really hope it gets moving after some of the recent layoffs at White Wolf.

That's shockingly sexist of you - but never mind.

Looking forward to it (huge fan of Bloodlines), but how likely is it to be another failed MMO? 99% I'd say.

Fingers crossed!

e: oh and the focus on 'emulating LARPing' is making me wary. Any successful game, especially a MMO, will have to rest on the shoulders of solid mechanics.

1. No CCP bought out WW many many years ago theres no working together at all.
2. CCP last year shrunk the team down to just 20 (yes TWENTY) people they aren't looking into speeding that up until after Dust has been out a year WoD had been stuck in dev hell for 5 years already at that point!.
3. They got beat TSW is out in June with cosmetic only clothes, no levels, outside game interactions (find a container with a combination lock on it you can look up the shipping company on google and find that container and ship etc etc). If you use a shotgun for example you can even fight without targeting as it's main powers just spray damage a certain distance (note I'm only talking about shotguns other weapons are target based and some are aoe etc etc)
1) Yes, sorry didn't know they bought out the company of WoD.
2) Nope, from what i've read and heard there were 60 people working for the game. Check the video i posted. It's from the end of March 2012.
3) What game is TSW? I mean could you spell out the name?

edit : Sorry 55 people. Check this one :

at 8:38 he starts to answer that question.
Point is : You'll hear and read many stuff from the Internet. You have to check if it's official though. Just a reminder ;)

i have a feeling those pictures might get males more interested then females...
well i was just trying to be humorous when i said that, but those clothes will make female gamers happy to know that there will be a huge collection of outfits (hell , i even liked those clothes, who i generally don't care about that kind of stuff).
