Epitaph666: Might be, but i know many people (including me), that didn't know this was a book and then they made the screenplay for the movie.
In fact i wouldn't know that there's a book if you hadn't told me. :p
cogadh: Seriously? You've never heard of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles series? Interview With The Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, Queen of the Damned (also turned into a movie), The Tale of the Body Thief... in all there were 10 novels in the original series, another 2 in a new series, plus 6 novels in the Mayfair Witches spin-off series. It was one of the most popular fictional novel series of the last 30 years. Way more popular than that Twilight crap. During the late 80's/early 90's (before the movie), it had a Harry Potter-like fandom.
Nope, not a damn thing :p. For one moment i thought i knew The Vampire Lestat, but i only know "Lestat" from an episode in the PC game "Nocturne" (Great survival horror-kinda like game), which includes vampires in Germany. I'm not a vampire fan actually nor a reader, so maybe that justifies my ignorance on the matter (no matter how popular it is among those circles or beyond).
I'm a monster lover though, enjoying both old Universal and new Horror movies (also a huge Hammer Horror films admirer) and anything morbid.
