Epitaph666: As many of you know, CCP and White Wolf (the creator of World Of Darkness table top game) are working together for many years to create this great game and bring it to our PCs as a MMO.
Everyone that has played Vampire : The Masquarade - Bloodlines , knows how immerse is the lore and the gameplay (well except for that last part with the Chinese Gang...).

The original table top games were created at the early 90's (even before Interview With A Vampire was released, no talk about Blade and ESPECIALLY Twilight) and it deals with Vampires. Then they added more stuff like Werewolves, Mages, Vampire Hunters etc.

This game is supposed to be something totally different from your common MMO RPG. It will have a main plot, but politics will play a huge role in the plot too (1st great point) .
Well to keep this first post away from the "tl;dr" state here's a link :

http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/62202/Vampire-The-Masquerade-MMO-Details-Emerge

and here's some concept art :

So they're still in pre-production stage creating the world, but i guess there are some burn-outs like me that want to help those guys and make things speed up, so it GETS finally released!

Now Let's wish they see this thread and kickstart it (not quite but you get what i'm trying to say there...).
If this was a Kickstarter project I would donate for it (KS never appealed to me before), hope it gets released.

CCP canned most of the WoD staff when the EVE riots hit it's already 3 years late and counting...
EVE's WiS system is the test of the graphics system and it REALLY needs work before it's ready for an MMO purely built around it.
The only thing I been wondering is if this is based on the old world of darkness which was the version of the setting that was used in VTM:Bloodlines and Redemption or will this be based on the new world of darkness which was launched shortly after Bloodlines(which was a lead into the Time of Judgment line for the original World of darkness games)?

-scratch that just saw that it was based on Vampire: the masqurade and not Vampire: The Requiem which was the New World of Darkness version

kavazovangel: I really hope they innovate, and do not make another WoW killer.

SimonG: The concept of th WOD is massively different. For starters, combat isn't one of the main foci of the RPG. I think this could become the "Twillight" of MMORPG, considering the crowd that plays WOD games.
Sparkly Ventru?? Bite your tongue!
I love Bloodlines. But I think the art posted makes this one look more like a Facebook game! I really hope not.
Thanks for the link. So glad to see that FunCom is still around making games. I loved the "take no shit" approach that Conan had and included buckets of blood.

No, WoD is NOT 3 years late.
If you read this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_of_Darkness#WoD_MMORPG

it says that it was announced at 2007 and it was supposed to be released at 2011 or 2012. If we follow your theory (that it will be released one year after DUST 514 - which comes out at 2012 Fall) , WoD will be released somewhere in 2013.

ps : the link that says that isn't working but i checked it on Google and other sites have re-posted this olf announcement.

No it really is 3 years late the original plan was 2k9 that was announced as the original release date at evefest at the same time WiS was announced as being in EVE then in 2k9 it was delayed for the first time to 2011 (as was WiS as it wasn't ready) then EVEmageddon blew up (because of WiS) and CCP completely restructured (about a year ago when WiS was finally introduced) at that time WoD was announced as being put on the back burner while they concentrated on DUST and EVE saying 1 year after Dust ships they'll return to focusing on WoD. Not that it will be released 1 year after Dust I doubt WoD will see the light until 2015 tbh.
got any links for all that?

Minor point: Interview With A Vampire was published in 1976 and has been credited as one of the inspirations for the WoD lore, specifically as the basis for the Ventrue Clan.
(i was reffering to the movie which became much more popular than the book)

This is going to fail for a number of reasons.

They can make it like WoW.

They can make it like Second Life.

They can make it like EVE Online. While sort-of true to the first edition, the authoritatian backdrop in a TTRPG is there to be overcome by your group of players. Not so in a MMORPG. Playing a vampire is a power fantasy, and it's not fun to be someone's bitch for all eternity.

It doesn't help that both editions of the WoD rules are utter crap, both conceptually and mechanically, so the designers do not have a base build upon.

On the other hand, there are vocal fans of either ruleset who will get mortally offended if the game does not include their favorite broken rule or stupid concept.

That's debatable. The movie was only made because the book was already so damned popular (it did spawn an entire series of books, as well as spin-offs), hence why it was also used as a basis for the WoD clans.
I'm am a big fan of the series and games and I have been so excited for this since they first announced it a few years back
Eh, let me know when I can play a werewolf or a vampire slayer, and I'll be interested. Seeing as how they're calling it World Of Darkness and not Vampire The Masquerade, hopefully those will be options at some point.

Might be, but i know many people (including me), that didn't know this was a book and then they made the screenplay for the movie.
In fact i wouldn't know that there's a book if you hadn't told me. :p

Hopefully this won't fail and become some utter crap you wouldn't even look at.

There...you're transforming me to a pessimist and cynical bastard...
