My condolences to New Zealand buddies. I, however, am currently enjoying playing the game regardless.

Scathsealgaire: Oh you hadn't heard? we traded her in for a bloke. Sad fella though...used to be a stock-market guru, but he fell on hard times so he had to stoop to running the country.
Wikipedia confirms it. I'd say congratulations but he does look like a sad bloke. I suppose you can at least be thankful his face doesn't look like a sack of potatoes.
I am surprised there are still GoGers from OZ and NZ... If you haven't been paying attention for the last couple of days, I guess it's partially your own fault you have a censored version.

Or is there another problem now?

Yes, this. You guys are being the typical angry mob even though a solution was introduced for you (and the Australians) several days ago. As this poster says, if you've somehow failed to notice this despite the censorship obviously (and quite rightfully) pissing you off, it's now at the stage where it's your own fault.
I know it's been a while since I'd said I'd post back here. My attempts at getting a special dispensation for New Zealanders were ongoing up to last night. Unfortunately, it ended up not being possible.

The offer we present you guys, with the Fair Price Package and (if you preordered) the free RPG remains the best in New Zealand. The (slightly) edited version of the game that you'll receive may well have a fan-released patch to restore your content in a few days.

Sorry that we couldn't work anything official out for you guys, but there are tons of legal agreements in place for a AAA title like The Witcher 2 as you can imagine, and we can't act in violation of them.
I just visited the States for a few days.... *wink wink* and got my self the uncencored version. Soon when I get back to Aus I'll be able to enjoy it.. Oh wait. I'm home.

So no refunds to those that want them despite the legal situation? I can't say I'm not disappointed. Due to how well GOG generally treats their customers, I'm not going to cancel my credit card payment but you guys are skating on thin ice.

lukipela: New Zealand is actually part of China.
hehe, you guys owe them more money per capita than we do. So I guess you are saying howdy comrade to us right? :P

Hey cobba, I hope you didn't go to Mississippi, you didn't right? :D

Well, given that the original promise was that there'd be the same version everywhere you should probably offer refunds to Australian and New Zealand customers that didn't know about the censorship.

GameRager: As my old principal used to say..."Ignorance of the rules/facts is no excuse."
It's more the fact that GOG specifically said that it would be the same version worldwide. That's like the principal adding a rule against something just before the person does it.

GameRager: Yes but they stated afterwards that it was going to be censored, both here and in several articles online.
Is it impossible to imagine that someone placed a preorder and then months later came back to pay without happening across any of the articles? Unless GOG sent emails to everyone who preordered to warn them about the censorship, GOG is in the wrong here because they changed the rules without making sure everyone knew. Sending it to the news sites and posting it on your facebook page is not enough.

GameRager: True, they should have sent emails....but do you really expect them to break their contracts? Even to make good with their customers? At the risk of ruining a sequal being released because they got caught in legal troubles?
Break their contracts how? I'm proposing they give them a refund, not switch their region.

I know for legal reasons you guys can't just release a patch to uncensor the game for us, but could you maybe accidently (not intentionally of course) give us a tip on which files a *cough* fan would have to *cough* modify, delete or replace if we could get duplicate files from our international friends? Or is it more complicated than that?
