Since yesterday i'm getting slow, slow dl speeds. I'm dowloading a soundtrack @ 40 Kb/s.

I've seen a few folks reporting similar problems with Alan Wake but since there was an issue with that particular download i kinda thought it was specific to that game but now i'm guessing maybe not

I have no issues downloading from anywhere else so it seems to be something at gog's end.

Anyone else ?

I just tried it as I intended to download the Empire Earth II anyway and currently it is going at around 637KB/s, so no, I don't have such big slowdown.
I am using 8 concurrent connections.
No, everything was fine for me. I downloaded some games yesterday and today and always had download speeds around 480kb/s. So it seems it's not a general server problem.

Freshly tested... the dl speed varies from 700kb to 4mb/s

Ok, that confirms that whatever it is it's not affecting everybody

Someone probably closed something somewhere on the tubes, i guess i'll have to ask support to look into it.

Thanks for the quick replies guys.
GOG downloads are handled by a CDN that directs you to the closest server for your country. There are sometimes problems with a particular server but they are usually resolved within a reasonable amount of time.

Have you tried the GOG downloader? You would probably get faster speeds with it since it opens multiple connections for each download (you can increase the number of connections in the settings).

No i haven't, i've always downloaded everything using the browser. The downloads from gog always max out my connection and now regardless of what file i pick (i tried a bunch to make sure the issue wan't file specific) they all come down between 40-75 Kbs so there's definitely a problem somewhere along the line.

Something similar happened a long while back when i changed my ISP and support fixed it, i'm hoping they'll be able to track it down this time as well.
Hmm, there might be some glitch as it went slowly down in last few minutes until it hit 0 and then it started to rise again. But so far it only raised to 250KB/s. It all happend after downloading more than 1GB.

Can you copy download adress and do tracert to download server to see where is the slowdown?
weird.I'm using 10 concurrent connection and I'm not having trouble

I can but i wouldn't know how to interpret the data and since the problem is definitely not at my end (i'm getting the usual dl speeds from all over except gog) it wouldn't help me much anyway. I already contacted support, i'm gonna wait for them to get back to me.

Thanks mate, i appreciate the offer but there's no need for it. It was a freaking long day, it's was a freaking hot day - it's past midnight here and it's still hot as hell, so i'm letting this one go for today.
